Haven't looked into it at all yet as car is sleeping in the garage for the last couple of weeks.

Me too, it's been in the garage for 4 weeks now, though I do get worried that the beam will seize again when its stood. Better take it out this weekend.
Need to pencil in the front suspension renewal as well, got every part needed here.

More woe from the Scoobynet 205 Appreciation Society: I am now 205-less. Sold last week. Boo hoo.
Worse still, it is not being replaced. Unless you count a set of patio doors a replacement.

I don't have ignition amp due to ECU so it puzzles me, although throttle bodies make a starter swap easy so its not too bad.

Olly - lol
Simon - Sounds like what I suffer from.
Turn the key and it sounds like it sticks, engine doesn't turn over. Flick the key on off a few times and then she'll fire.
Like I say, I've had a brand new Valeo (so OEM) starter motor fitted a year or so ago as I was suffering this problem then, thought it had cured it but obviously not, so I guess its between the starter and the battery so all I can think of that would cause that sort of thing is the ignition amp. Might as well pick on up and rule it out!

mine use to do that but being the god I am I got it sorted, traced it back to a dodgy wire that feeds the power to the starter itself Job done!
shat myself the other week checking my oil and i just looked down and saw my starter had dropped and the bolts were loose. OMG how long had it been like that!!!! Got my alan keys socket out and loctighted them in. So glad ive got my webers on or i wouldnt of seen the starter due to the manifold and ind kit

Mine developed the starter problem too. A few clicks, then starter would engage. It always started though.
My old 1.0 AX runaround did exactly the same.
Only a new starter motor cured it both times.
French crap

205 GTI corner...
I know this is a Scooby website but there seems to be quite a few 205 fans and drivers..
How about a 205 corner similar to the wagon and type r corners?
