I think the key problem here is that the poster didn't use my Scoobynet X vs Y Racing Thread Proforma © Saxo Boy, 2006.

Proforma

[insert day (yesterday, last night, etc)] I had a jolly-good spirited side-by-side comparison with a [insert car]. As you may know my chosen chariot is a [insert car] with [insert mods]. His/her [delete as applicable] car appeared to have[list any obvious visual mods]. This all took place when [description (i.e I pulled up to lights)]. The other driver glanced over and toyed with his moustache [‘hair’ if female] menacingly. I gave the Vin Diesel nod and mouthed ‘F.A.G.G.O.T’ before selecting [insert gear] and preparing to go for it. The lights changed/traffic cleared [delete as applicable] and we gunned it. [Describe the event through various increments of velocity adding kph or leptons with a next to each numerical value]. At [insert speed] I/he/she [delete as applicable] shut down and it was over. After a brief exchange of hazards/thumbs/fingers/phone numbers/blows [delete as applicable] we went on our merry ways. I/he [delete as applicable] was clearly owned - LOL/LMAO/ROTFLMAO [delete as applicable].

Driving fast is acceptable to me, if the conditions are right I'll happily sit at 110 on a motorway all day long.... clear road will see me far in excess of that.......

I would've bought a smart car if I wanted to drive around at 30-60 all ******* day.....

Speed thrills....... stupidity kills

Doing that speed on your own on a motorway is slightly different.

I think everyone who owns any car not just a performance car has driven above the speed limit - But it depends on how much you are willing to flout the law and publicly admitting will get the response it has...

Plus I think it's more the racing than just exceeding the limit that's more of the issue here...

Both of us on a rolling start as the lights on the dual carridge way turned to green.

He gets his boot down first.

I stay on his bumper through the first 3 gears then bollox he`s pulling away from me at about 110

Lots and lots of **** flying up from his tyers onto the front of my car (it could have been from his exhausts) so I back off in fear of front end chips. Thats my reason honest.
Show me exactly where he used the word "Race"

Sound to me like two bloke just having a bit of fun. Suppose having fun is being a Tw@t too.

As said earlier, 110mph on a perfectly straight dual carriage way (70 zone) is perfectly safe. If it was a 40mph zone, then yes they were being stupid for going that fast.
For gods sake, I get up to 110mph on the back roads to work and back, when the conditions are right and it's perfectly safe to do so.

Sounds like your getting brainwashed by Blair & Co. Speed doesn't kill, bad driving does. Excessive speed is safe, only when safe to do so.

Martin carry on enjoying your impreza and next time make sure your in front of the RS4 so you can spray stones over it's paint work.
get with the program small ****, it is the fact that they were racing not the actual speed (however in my opinion 110 is far to excessive on a public highway), so yes racing at 110 on the autobahn is still wrong.

A scoob isnt about top speed, most modern cars will take a standard scoob at higher speeds, its how the car accelrates and delivers the power that makes a scoob a scoob.

Lights on a dual carriage way?

Doesn't sound like a completely open stretch of road to me....

Jesus, my 100 mile commute involves a fair few miles of B roads ...& I honestly cant think I could get upto 110 & drive within my braking distances for all the junctions/entrances on those roads
