To wave or not to wave
I don't think you should feel dirty HPLovecraft. I think EVOs look great too and at least if they flash you back they're not going to try and race you or run you off the road! I'm always tempted to wave at them too, might try it...
I am with all the guys who's SO thinks they are nuts for waving at strangers - have to say a lot of scoobys round Edinburgh dont bother their **** to lift a hand but it is worth it for the few that do (usually classics, but then I am in a classic aswell)

I think it's great and adds something extra to the awesome experience of owning such an amazing car!
I always wave but I do get a little pished if I don't get a response.
I flashed some guy in a newage on the M25 once and he didn't bother... so I thought!
He then overtook a few cars and came along side and waved, then flashed a little later when he turned off.
I didn't wave at the Evo I spotted whilst stopped at some lights a couple of weeks ago but there was a mutual nodding of heads which was nice.

I'm a girlie and I still wave occasionally.. half the time you never get a wave back though
My other half (who actually owns the scoob) has given up

TBH if it's not a classic it's not worth waving at anyway!

If it's a turbo I wave regardless of age.
I wave most of the time, you get used to the scoobs around the area that dont return the wave so i dont bother with them no more.
Was in sheffield on Sunday and a White classic (Nice car) on ecclesall road waved. my mate was driving and wasnt aware of the scooby wave, so if it was you i apologise, i did see you from the passenger seat!
C'mon people, keep the tradition alive!

I always think they're alerting me to a speed trap waiting around the next corner.Nick
I always wave, I have missed a wave or too as well
Even went as far as having a chat with a very nice bloke in Milton Keynes
while sat in traffice
I had to explain to him why his car was soo much slower than mine
When I gave him the list of mod's by the roadside it all began to make to sense to him

Always wave, the only peole that tend to ignore you are the wannabe gangsta Asian boys that are commonplace where I live
Wave at all Subarus including Forrester and Legacy
I generally wave to most types of scoob, if it's a female, i usually wait due to the fact that any i've waved at in the past don't wave back. I'll flash the leeries if i'm passing another scoob going in the oposite direction on the motorway.
I have been known to discretely nod to Evo's etc.
My 70 year old dad borrowed the scoob a few weeks ago and when he gave me it back, he said there might be something wrong with the motor because two scoobs waved and another flashed him.
A lass at work thought it was sad we all wave and did'nt see the point in it all - untill she bought a VXR, now she thinks it's totally acceptable and nothing wrong with it.
Cheers

On the first day of scoob ownership i got a wave from a fellow classic. My girlfriend pissed herself saying "Ahhh you've got some new friends...". Now i do it religiously, even have to stop myself in my van. I do have to say i've never had a wave from a newage, but i think thats because most newage owners think us young chaps in a classic are automatically Chav's and unworthy of a wave.
I think i'll try waving at Merc owners from now on, hopefully if we all do it we can start some conspiracy going

and shall continue to flash EVO enthusiasts. Spreads a bit of comradarie and feel good factor on what is at times an otherwise stessful environment.
