1st Roll Call For Lakes Re-Run....Are You Here ?
#31
Michelle........firstly, most meet points are openly displayed for all interested parties and it would be quite a task to mail everyone individually to avail them of this info, take the Northern Meets for instance !
What is important, is the actuall route itself and that is'nt given out until the start of the run
More importantly, we are breaking no laws here and will be departing in groups of no more than 4 and WE WILL be abiding by the rules and regulations of the highway code......WONT WE ?
THE PUB AT THE END OF THE DAY'S RUN HAVE SET ASIDE OUR OWN SEATING AREA AND ARE EXPECTING US TO START LANDING FROM 3.30PM

Can't confirm at the moment, the scoob has developed a worrying cold-start noise that is being checked out next Monday, so it all depends on if it's got worse by the weekend...
Fingers crossed

We are coming up on the Sunday morning now. Got to spend some quality time with gem on Saturday. See you all there, in clio if its dry and mine if its the slightest bit damp. John can just about manage 172 bhp in the dry but still hasn't masterd the wet yet.

Chris,
I've had loads of practice in the wet over the last few days.
I'll bring the Clio out on Sunday come rain or shine - just for you mate!
Matt, you can shut up Mr "I'm too scared to take my Scooby to the Nurburgring." I can control my 172bhp just fine thanks!
Chris, have you spoken to Pete about your spare seat? I can give him a lift up to the hotel if you like. Let me know the plans.
I must say I'm really suprised that Michelle has wimped out AGAIN! I thought she had nothing better to do than keep such a good-looking bloke company for the day! How wrong I was.
Anyway, really looking forward to Sunday now - can't wait!!!
Jon

Just back from checking the route out.
For those who remember the route for day 1 it has now slightly changed and will not be taking in Grisedale Forest but a far....far better route and safer....if you get my drift.
The only other thing that has changed is that at the start the Shell garages are now Texaco but still sell super unleaded etc.....PLEASE FILL YOUR CAR UP PRIOR TO COMING TO MEET AT THE HOTEL CAR PARK FIRST, time is important.
It's going to be fantastic....I'm off to TSL tomorrow for a few "mods"
Great you're bringing the 172 John, we were talking about you and your car today, any scoob drivers that have never come across this man and machine before be afraid....BE VERY AFRAID (c'ept for me of course )
If Pete's coming up anyway then we'll see when we get there, there will be plenty of spare front pax seats anyhow, slider for one needs a passenger.....anyone mad enough ??? teen_machine was second in line after Michelle but I'm sure she can be persuaded to give my pax seat up for Pete
As for Miss M.......you all know her as well as I

How am I supposed to get there if my car is OFF THE ROAD??????????
Look in drivetrain to be constructive and help me rather than comment on my not turning up

I don't know, abuse me & then ask for a lift. You've got a cheek woman! I thought you'd never be seen dead in a Renault anyway?!
I'm affraid I don't think they'll be room in the ickle Clio for you to squeeze your butt between Matt & Pete on the back seat!(Not that it's a big butt!!!!)

Well if no one has posted by tomorrow that they are coming up count me out because I have no car available to travel up in, it will be too easy to follow me with the trails of smoke
Could be one of three things
Blown turbo
Head gasket
Coilpack
I really hope it is the last option.........
This would have been the last meet I will go to as I am selling the car and leaving the board
So remember
Anyone who has my vodafone number 0788..........it is noww out of action so use my BT one if you have it - if not then post asking me for it.........
Laters........see you around.......

Right, I've got mi map here, I'm gonna go down the green road till I get to the blue one at which point I'm gonna turn right...I think
I'll be going A59 from Skipton, past BAE to the M6, anyone else going that way?
It looks highly likely that I'll have a spare passenger seat if anyone's interested?

BOB.T,
the back roads, via Longridge are much more fun than the A59/M6, and bring you out by the SUL garage near to the start!
Wish i could make it!

The first part of the run has changed slightly but still taking in your request of the humps and bumps (feel guilty yet )....and you'd love it even more......so hope she's worth it
See you soon.
Chris

Cheers Mellow, I had a fantastic day
It was a great route, it had everything, fast bits, slow bits, twisty bits, and even some jumpy bits, well, I didn't get much air but then I did have Laura and her ample behind in with me
I had a couple of interesting "lift off oversteer" moments, nothing too serious though, it's something I've only found since fitting the Yoko's to the front, I think they're far superior to the now tired rears.
I think my only problems were, my stomach muscles really ached by the time I got home I got a really bad headache coupled with ear ache, again I'm putting both these down to my co pilot Laura, blimey she can yabber I must apologise for my many toilet stops, I think it interupted the flow so to speak, hey hum, cheers for waiting though guys
See you all again soon
