Might sound a bit conspiracy thoery-ish, but has anyone stopped to question why every single muslim/race issue is being blown out of all proportion at every available opportunity.

Is it just a case of the media finding a bandwagon to jump on or is there something more calculated to this apparent deliberate attempt to increase racial tension?

All it will need now is for one member of one race to do something nasty to another (probably of a young age) and all hell will break loose.

Of course, The olympics include competition on Saturdays and Sundays, and Jewish/Christian communities have so far, managed not to kick off about it (minus the odd athelete who refused to compete on a Sunday, see chariots of fire for more details).

Quite simple really, religion and politics have no place in sport - I do not see this changing any time soon.

It's a nothing story. Just typical Daily Mail journalism.

Well I hope the IOC cancel Britain hosting the Olympic games now.

Save the British tax payer £2 Billion in Tax.

No doubt this will rise to about £5Billion.

Yeah but just think about the lovely new sports facilities you will get and the rail and public transport infrastructure! Plus all the new modern hotels and cleaner streets, plus they will be forced to recruit lots and lots of new police officers who after the Olympics will be utilised in patroling the streets. So your increased tax money will not have been wasted

Or am I dreaming again and am about to wake up in a cold sweat having eaten my pillow

Unless your a tax payer in London (of which I'm not) then you'll get fcukall out of the Olympics. Apart from higher taxes of course.

Great if you live in London (assuming they don't **** it up), but not much use to the rest of the country. The politicians seem to forget there is a country outside the m25.

I really don't understand people whinging because the games are in London and therefore the rest of the country is not involved, surely this is always the case with the Olympics.

The next one is in Beijing, are people in Shanghai up in arms about that?

What about Sydney 2000, were there riots in Perth coz they weren't there?

Of course there weren't, grow up FFS!

No its because London cant cope with the Olympics anyway so money has to be chucked into the city once again where the rest of the UK is ignored. Birmingham or Manchester could quite easily have put more use into developing a decent city anyway. Its the same argument about Wembley stadium being built in London when it made far more sence to host it else where.

Well regardless of what the jealous, petty-minded and general rabble think, London is not an international centre for arts, fashion, finance, insurance, music for nothing.

London Olympics will attract money and visitors from around the world because it is a prestigious venue. (and it's public transport facilities are second to none in the UK, no other system could handle the numbers, especially when other infrastructure like hotels, restaurants etc are factored in)

The reality is that the people bringing the money in and buying expensive seats wouldn't do that it it was based in Birmingham or just about any other city in the UK.

Let the London Tax payer pay for it all then.

If you own a shop, restaurant, bar etc in London, then you are going to do quite nicely out of it. Live outside London, and you get nothing out of it.

Has anyone ever stopped to think why this country is being forced so far down the Muslim route? Who does it benefit?

The London taxpayer is paying for it, and they pay for the rest of the country too who are a bunch of freeloaders. The figures are there for all to see, if you ripped London out (within the M25) and made it a nation it would still be about the 5th richest in the world. it's the countries financial engine.

Does anyone north of Watford still actually work?

Suppose this post is one way of making all your points worthless then.

Its a typical London attitude, and you wonder why people hate the place. The me me me attitude is all you get with London. England and the UK in general is a much nicer place and representation of the country than London can ever be, unless you wear a suit and push figures around everyday.

London's public transport and road network can hardly cope now, never mind when you remove yet another lane from the roads to provide dedicated Olympic officals lanes. It took me over an hour and a half to drive from Putney to New Malden (all of 6 miles) on Friday morning.

i'm not saying it's not overloaded, the roads are truly atrocious, but how would somewhere like Brum cope with an influx of 1 million visitors and provide safe, easy transport and the number of hotel rooms with a system that is sustainable after the Olympics.

They managed to stage a weekends worth of motor racing for 2 or 3 years in Brum.

Can't see it happening in London.

If you have a 50 litre bucket full to the brim and a 25 Litre bucket that's half full, which has the most capacity for additional liquid?

So how many Muslim athletes is it going to effect? Or what percentage of the total competing athletes will it effect?
Why do I get the feeling they are just winging as usual?

Cant understand how they just seem to entice hatred against themselves with bringing this rubbish up themselves instead of just getting on with it !

Jeezus man, try reading the article:

Even buildings don't escape the wrath of some muslims
Apple's NY Fifth Avenue store is an 'insult to Islam' | The Register
Unbelieveable!!
I think all female athletes should compete in the niqab to make it fairer for the female muslim athletes. Not only that it will be bloody entertaining. Imagine the 110 hurdle race! or the swimming events!

you will get one or two saying "there ok....good and bad in everyone blah blah!" even someone said on the other thread 90% where saints its only 10% that kick up a fuss.

this not the case i recommend they apply the formula pro rata .

90% of these people saying how nice they are blah blah blah havnt had the privalige of living amongst them. me and all my family no longer live in the streets of where we were raised due to total invasion by the muslims.

birmingham is set well on course to be muslim majority by 2015. all them people not willing to intergrate mmmmmmmmmmmmmm? i wonder? the future looks bright doesent it??
