Original contract? At £30 a month excluding VAT; and 35p per minute (also ex. VAT), I do know Sunshine!

Well it has been over a week now since the deadline, and ... NOTHING!

You would think that a man of Mr Lewis's means would be able to purchase a daily paper and take and post a digital picture to at least prove that he still has his claimed fully working Motorola MR30 mobile phone on the Orange network.

Unless he is a pathetic lying troll that is!!!

He's doing that because as usual he's made a complete tit of himself and is to embarrassed to post again.

<CAN'T BELIEVE I'M DEFENDING PETE HERE>

I've come into this thread a little late here, but i'm going to have to defend Pete on this one.

I'm also on the Orange/Virgin contract thing as well. I phoned them late 1999 to cancel my original £25/month contract and they persuaded me to go onto this Virgin Promise contract.

£99 for the first 12 months, then you ONLY pay for calls.

I've stuck with it ever since, as its such an amazing deal, and until now I've never known anyone else on the same package.

If you make zero calls then the monthly bill is £0.00.

When you do make calls, its 15p/min first 5 mins each day, then 5p/min each minute after that. And as Pete quite rightly says, voicemail calls are free.

It costs me about £2-3 a month, without messing about with vouchers, or running out of credit and its IDEAL!!!

So, Pete is correct in this instance and I will vouch for his phone deal.

I do have a decent phone though.

AND.....I've also had bills as little as 35p for a month!!!

Oh gawd, just noticed another thing.

My first mobile is about 8 years old now, and the battery still works fine in that as well, so I can ALSO believe what Pete's saying about his battery/s.

Someone help me!!

Cool. I still win though, because my Motorola International 3200 GSM still works well and its been kept in the boot of my car for years. Its ideal if you break down because itll hold a signal where most modern handsets cant (even over Snake Pass!). I still have the original battery; the ones from my analogue 8800 fit and still work (but not too well now) as well. When they fail I can call upon the cigar lighter adapter, which is shaped like a battery and clips onto the back of the phone...

Petes original post made no mention of original contracts too.....

Dream Weaver,

thanks for showing just how easy it is to post useful and factual information - something that Mr. Lewis is unable to provide.

I don't dispute the tarrif (although it didn't exist when pslewis said that he signed up), but seeing as you are still on it, could you answer a little question?

It is a "contract tarrif" n'est pas - so how is it billed and do you get a monthly statement? Our resident (or currently, non-resident) troll claims...

...but i can't see Orange waiting 4 months for payment. In fact, payments are normally made via direct debit - so he won't have a choice.

If you don't pay by direct debit (thus theoretically being able to delay payment), Orange will add a "Non Direct Debit charge" (see the back of your bill for details). This will increase the bill way above the claimed 35p!!!

I am soooo enjoying this thread
