Fitted mine on Sunday as planned - took us exactly 3 hours so pretty pleased with that The clutch pedal now feels lighter and the take-up point is much lower down (I nearly reversed off the ramp at high speed after being taken by surprise at that!) so gear changing feels much better. The usual judder is now gone as well With the lightened flywheel the engine now feels as if it revs much cleaner and easier and there's no problems with idling or reduced engine braking. I think that the whole lot has been well worth the money - mercy buckets, David

Raymond.

Oh, before I forget, I phoned API at 9:15 on Monday morning to say that the old flywheel was ready for collection and it was gone just 4 hours later! Can't get better than that

Thanks for the feedback Raymond - sort of knoocka hole in BOB'5 assertion that the light flywheel makes no difference.

You are reiterating what many, many of our customers say, that the car is much livelier with one on. AND no obvious downside.

Thanks for the business.

David APi

PS 4 hours to collect a flywheel? that's disgraceful, l'll get them working on doing a better job !

27,000 happy flywheel users from here. Pretty impressive I must say, particularly since there are only 62,000 usernames registered on here. Take away old usernames, forgotten and replaced usernames, muppets, trolls etc and you still have 27,000 customers from here say they are happy with the flywheels?

£3.2million from machining old flywheels. Not bad.

The only thing i hate about my lightened flywheel was the cost compared to yours for one, LOL, and the fact that 30 mph in 4th is now a bloody nightmare!
May have to go back to 3rd gear driving at 30 mph, bloody specs cameras.
But i have to say there are pros and cons for the flywheel. Just imho.

I have just phoned Tracktive to find out David! LOL.
I have a Kaiten chromoly flywheel, weighing in at 5.4 kg if he remembers correctly he says. Make is right its just the weight may be 5.3 or whatever they are.
But it does make a difference to the labouring engine syndrome at 30 mph.
BUT, it used to feel crap at 30 before tbh. Any kinda incline and it does not like 4th gear at 30, never has.

Hi David

I know i'm really late for this GB but i was wondering if there was any chance of joining it or if anyone has dropped out. I have a MY2000 classic and am looking for clutch and flywheel for self fitting.

Many thanks

Had the new clutch and flywheel fitted last Tuesday at API and I'm 'over the moon'. Much lighter feel on the pedal, no judder, quicker spool up with the lighter flywheel and no more slipping at high revs....

Many thanks to David, Martin and the 'team'.

This group buy is closed I am afraid.

Call me and l'll work something out for you, but unfortunately I cannot run a group buy all year long for as and when any one needs a clutch.

Next GB is likely to be March I suspect.

Alyn (stockcar) @ AS Performance does them all year round for £325 all inc with next day delivery (or £260.60 + £16 delivery + vat).

IIRC he used to do lightened flywheels at about half the price of this GB. Not sure if he still does them though. Worth checking.

Bob
