I'm sure its all done for the looks that it gives, think it looks fantastic , would love one myself. Not a bad price for a fair old chunk of Carbon.
So how long did it take to fit?, and whats involved?
Again nice one BodSki

Hey Darren
Only took about 30 minutes to fit. It took longer going to B&Q to get the right fixings for it.
It uses exisiting pickup points on the underside of the STi bumper/bodywork, Tim @ Scoobyparts said to use push fit plasic fixings but i used 6mm nuts and bolts with some big washers. Just a matter of taking out a few 10mm bolts that are already on the underside of the car, lining up the splitter, replacing those ones and then using the 6mm ones from B&Q in the middle where the exisiting fixing holes are. Piece of P1ss even for me
Boyd.

Vapid,
i am no expert, (am I may well be corrected) but my understanding is that a splitter 'splits' the air flow at the front of the car, channeling air and making it pass faster under the car, causing a pressure differential between the air going over the car and that below. The air below will be at a lower pressure causing a suction effect which sticks the car to the road........
.................It also looks good

I'm guessing it was brought because of its looks, more than the Aero advantage (maybe wrong), but thats my point, I mean why do we de-tango front lights:- to make them look better, why do we fit mesh grilles:- to make them look better, the list can go on, of course its a matter of taste thats why there are so many upgrade parts avaible to buy!.
