Nice one! Doesnt look rally car, im faster than you, im in your face kind of car does it. Its getting too far from what its supposed to be, its goin all soft even if it does end up with 300hp+. Maybe it will grow on me like the last one did but at least that one still looks like an agressive rally car. My grandfather would look just right behind the wheel of that!
Oh my god, i just had a thought, their not trying to go all Honda on us are they!!!

Probably because they have decided to move to a product they can try to sell to the mass market rather than a small specialist one (like EVO)

the versions shown on cover of autoexpress look more likely to sell than this one in my opinion

Surely they'll keep both, so to apeal to a wider customer base. Want a 4 door saloon/hatch? Buy the Impreza. Want a larger 4 door saloon, with more refinment? Buy the Legacy.
Well not sure because In May Subaru will unviel the 3 door Hatchback and the Basis for the late 2007/8 WRC Car. I doubt if the new car will be called "Impreza 2". The "New" Model shown is a blend of the Legacy and Impreza.

By amalgamating the Legacy and Impreza Brands into one shared Car Model. thus giving a much wider Range of options than could be if it as now, two Models. The Impreza brand name is far more famous than "Legacy" can only assume Legacy will be dropped or range in the Impreza model.

So Impreza New Model's range could be WRX, STi, Outback, legacy(spec D) with choices of Petrol or a Deisel 4/6 cyl. but Spec C may be dropped and only available for the Hatchback.

Reminds me of a Seat Leon mated with a Vauxhall Astra GSi.

Just my opinion.

that looks cack. subaru scored a hit with the aptly named "classic". rip all the drawings up, destroy all the recent prototypes, and sack the designers. take a pic of a classic facelift scoob (97-01) and modernise it. but for christs sake dont get rid of all the imprezas characteristics. yes change is good sometimes, but people, think to yourself... what makes a subaru, a subaru? and not say an evo, or a hot hatch?

i still remain firm footed imho that the classic facelift was the best looking scooby ever... and by the looks of this ****e will be for years to come... if it even exists past 2008.

There are 4 Groups of Subaru Car owners (everyone wants differing things from a Car) so generalizing a lot

A) Powerful 2 door raw rally bred Car with performance and agility (not keen on lardy newage) other possible likes 2/3 door Ford/Seat/Mazda/SKODA/VW "RS" models etc.

B) Powerful 4 door Family Car but find the classic's to basic and need 4/5 dr Models (Evo/Audi RS4/SKODA/BMW)

C) Simular to above Spec D owners wish more Comfort and less in your face but not ready for a "Pipe and Slipper" Legacy. (BMW5/RS6)

D) "Pipe and Slipper" Farmer brigade workhorse with Comfort, speed and 4WD( Legacy/Audi)

Subaru hope the "A's" will be tempted by the New Pocket rocket B5 Ok looks kak in concept form but wait til it is unvieled in WRC form.

The new Impreza or Legacy whatever is to tempt the rest with one Model instead of two. A bigger Range within one Model 4dr Saloon, 5dr Hatch and Super Tourer and apparently 4/6 cylinder, Turbo diesel, WRX, STi and Luxury versions.

but Time will tell.

IMHO

BTW the scoop looks as Fake as the other Cosmetic cover ups and maybe just a Subaru decoy

Insiders reckon most will have turned inductions, resited Turbo's and IC's at front of engine which may be TMIC or FMIC.

IMHO

It does look sh1t3.
There is a plus though for every 4 door saloon owner.
The sales will go up with the older "winged" and "in your face" monsters faster if they amalgomate both types, the impreza and legacy.
That means that if your 4 door car is immaculate and well cared for you might find that the price will level off and stop dropping so much like they are at the moment.
Your 4/5 door impreza will then become even more of a modern day classic.
To every negative there is a plus

Face it, the day of the hopped up super saloon with it's garish bulges and wings is over. Mitsu are barking up the wrong tree with the Evo, chasing an ever shrinking niche. With this new model, Subaru are fighting for a much bigger share of the pie, vs the GTi (note the one in the photos) and the A3. The market for a car like that is many times bigger, and if Subaru can pull it off, more power too 'em.

Oi loikes it.

Yesterday i was talking to the Subaru dealer in Nuneaton,he is 100% sure that there is a new Scoob coming out that looks more like the old P1, this will also be a 2 door with a nice helping of power, apparently it is to match the MR2 price range.....His words not mine.

Agreed as said, probably a bigger "Impreza" using Legacy floorpans and more "ranges" making far more Parts between common between 4/5dr saloons, 5 r Wagon, legacy and outback Styles

Thats the B5-TPH concept car Model Ok it looked KAK !! but
get 1 B5 model, 1 P1 and a P2 put in blender for 30 mins and Bake for 4 months. Leave to stand for the March Motor Show
