Andy you better get used to it. I have seen some insane driving from neds trying to get one over on a scoob and it is just not worth getting involved.
I may have told you this in the boozer, but about a year ago in my last scoob a couple of neds flew past me on the inside lane as I was slowing for a change to red at the traffic lights. Not content with this they gave me the finger as they went past. If they had been paying attention to the road they might have noticed a traffic car sitting at the said traffic lights. Not surprisingly the traffic car went after them and pulled them over. When the lights turned to green I drove past the neds who were now in the back of a police car. I almost had to pull into a layby I was laughing that much

Hi Stev !!
(Stev's one of my best mates by the way folks ).
excellent story !
As far as mine was concerned, I wasn't willing to do a standing start race from the lights on the Calder roundabout cos although I thought I'd get to the exit first I reckoned they'd probably rear end me as I went through the wee esses leading onto Calder Road !
I must admit I was a wee bit naughty and started to catch them on Calder Road, although they had a fair head start by now. (I went round the narrow single lane left hander leading to Curriehill Road fast enough for a bit of rear tyre squeal, but when he overtook two cars as they ENTERED the mini roundabout in truly nutty fashion I thought ~
"Nah, I'm no doin' that !! That's just feckin' stoopid !!" and eased off.
Later they got caught up in traffic so I was behind them as they went round the Curriehill Roundabout so they had their opportunity to wave their fists at me. Piggin **** !!

Andythejock,
I used to have a 1993 CRX 1.6 twin cam 16V, the B16 engine, it was one of my all time favourite cars, they are 160BHP and a very very quick motor.
A standard 160bhp motor would definately not keep up with your scooby on full boost, so the car that you couldn't catch would have had a transplant done I would say for sure.
I would say though, a modded b16 engine would give a standard 220bhp Impreza a run for its money.

Actually I was catching it until it did its silly overtaking move, so I guess it was sooped up, but not as soopped up as it could have been. Note my particular WRX is sitting at 273bhp with modded suspension. I reckon if i was as nutty as the Civic driver i would have been in front (or we both would have bashed our cars as we exited the 1st roundabout together !!).
So do you know how much the old mid 90's Civics weigh ?
By the way, my last car was a Prelude 2.2 Vtec. Yep, Honda make great cars.
I did think about the CTR, which would have also been a great car, but I'm more than happy with my modded Scoob !

turns out the car still has the standard engine in it apparently.i dont think it has been left as honda intended but its still the b16.it was ment to have a k20 dropped into it but it doesnt appear to have been done yet.

K.B,
So it'll be around 160bhp do you reckon (almost makes me wish I'd had a go from the lights, although I've dumped my clutch from 4000 revs once and don't intend to do it again !).

No need to convince me that Vtec's are awesome - I used to have one !
KB - what's the other side of the story ? My side is that for one car to beat another then both need to be racing (from the start). If the other vehicle gets caught up in traffic, you haven't proved that one car is faster than the other.

Thing is, when Dave pulled up next to him, he didn't rev his engine - and took off at a steady speed, entered first roundabout at the cars limits, then overtook 2 cars safely, hit the next roundabout at a good speed then we got held up by traffic.
Never even saw the impreza till later on - the guy makes it out like David was driving like some sort of maniac
the other side of the story from the passenger of the car.^^^
is that stuff on my profile or something?its true but i dont remember writing it

(Submitted post when I wasn't finished it - oops !)
Anyway, thought David's Civic looked good, nicely set up and went through the bends well. My kind of car. Tell him i hope i didn't mean to cause any offence.
The info about you is on your previous posts - anybody that bombed down
Glentress has my respect, even if I'm not that great at it myself (but I do have a great time on my bike).
