Chris, cant commit till they publish actual date, you know what Sky TV are like.

 

Chris mate - you cant please everyone, we should have bloody stuck to the first date, as soon as you start doing it towards the middle of December you get all-sorts of clashes xmas do's, bloody football etc etc.

I've had the pleasure of organizing a few works do's over the years and tbh its a feckin' nightmare, i get moaned at all teh time

We should have stuck to the first date in the first place and whoever can make it makes it, if not then not.

Oh and whoever goes get the money up front or at least a substational deposit.

I'm still easy atm on both dates, nothings set in stone yet. Unless we get 50+ people, we wont be eating in Rusholme anyway! I've sent an email out to everyone who's a smacs member, and the response has been quite poor so far. I know it's only sept, but these things have to be booked well in advance.

So, we're still undecided at this time:
saturday the 2nd or the 9th, or sunday the 10th of december. Don't really want to clash with the rally gb though

 

What about sticking to the original date but doing an early evening??? i.e. 7pm that way people with kiddies will be home way before 10pm

just a thought.

btw i've stopped doing xmas do's at work - i got feckin' lynched the other year - even though it was a success, and it is a thankless job so ***** to 'em i let others sort it now.

 

For what it's worth, as things stand at this precise minute, I can do either. It is a long way off though.

I'd rather not clash with the wrc at the least, so probably swinging towards the 9/10 weekend, still would rather do an afternoon though, than early evening. We'll see, numbers need to pick up before anything happens though, as if we don't get 50+ we will go to the Unicorn @ £18 per head for a gorgeous meal

Had a lovely meal today at the LAL QILA restaurant with the lovebirds and wife and kids in tow []
Spoke extensively to the manager, Ati, about what I want on the buffet menu, had a look at the room, massive and very nice, confirmed we will have more than 50+ in attendance, and put down £100 deposit.
