Granby is right, certain people will read these sort of forums, which is why i must add when we are in convoy, for example along the A13, please stay in formation and please not be tempted to race any other cars which may goad us. This should then lead to everyone having an enjoyable night without any mis haps.

Absolutely, the point about this run is driving slowly in convoy not about "doing a Hammond" along the A13.

Everyone is always well behaved and I hope that continues this year

We've never had any issues with the authorities or any accidents, it's always well behaved and long may it stay that way.

Maps are being discussed and I'm sure Flat Eric will do his normal amazing job for us when the time is right...

 

will we be parking up at battersea park like last time ????? . well most of us ... i got lost last time...LOL

That sounds good to me a chance to get some good photos in, especially as I have another couple of Catalunya's coming, and it gives us all a chance to have a chat.

I am loving the idea of a nice slow cruise as we dont want any problems

Contemplated a drive by last year but thought better of it.....as Adidas pointed out the police will have us on cctv from the A13 onwards and 60+ cars heading towards the palace en masse is likely to make them nervous. Remember these police carry guns

Hi All,

Was on my way back home from a Herts mini-meet the other evening and got stuck in the most horrendous traffic jam going Southbound. No signs or prior warning - just turned the corner and there was the jam from hell. The Northbound tunnel was uneffected and flowing well with little traffic I might add. They appeared to be doing something with the lighting boxes so 1 lane was closed and as we all know 3 into 1 don't go very well !!!!

Went the shorter route thru London and hit un-announced night time maintainance works on the Blackwall Tunnel. Sat there for almost 2 hours to go about 1 mile. To say I was pi**ed off is an understatement especially when I had to get up for work at 06.30 this morning.

Alex - mate if this happens during the tunnel run event next month it is going to put a major dampner on the evening!!! I saw no signs, nothing telling of the up coming lane restrictions........... disgraceful.

97Catalunya - You may find that there is an extra special place for you to stop and take some photo's. All will be revealed soon. Are you doing a special satnav/digital camera discount for tunnel run attendee's mate?

 

60+ going thru busy London streets with untold traffic and lights everywhere... so ppl dont get completely lost (along with the maps) will there be 'pace' cars set along the convoy?? And if so can we have pics of those cars so we know which ones to look out for?

 

No pace cars I'm afraid but plenty of people have been before.

Basically it's a straight road into london, turn around and back again, it's going to be difficult to get lost (I hope). If you haven't got one already get a walkie talkie, stick it on channel 1 and shout if you are lost

Even with 10 cars the chances of everyone getting through the lights in one go is nil. Thge leaders will be slowing down and pulling over where possible to let everyone catch up.

The most important thing to remember is that we will be travelling through London. There are a huge number of speed/traffic light/bus lane enforcement cameras around not to mention the cctv/traffic flow cameras so no speeding.

Getting your road angels up to date is also a good idea.

now i was thinking along these lines myself. What if we said split the group up into 3 smaller groups with 1 lead car for each group, leaving thurrock at say 5 min intervals? This should still allow us all to be grouped for the major tunnels, but also allows for the bigger group to be managed should there be splits due to traffic lights etc.

Just a thought, what do you guys & girls think?

 

Sounds like a brilliant idea spally, maybe if possible you could split them into more groups with say a max of 10 cars in each
