Just to confirm:
1.The women (called "Garin") who serve in the idf do receive basic training but do not serve on the front line.
2.Amongst the various assault rifles already mentioned variations on the m-16 etc, The idf also use the Gallil which is an israeli 5.56mm assault rifle the AK47 be it russian or chinese are not issued (Special Ops excepted!) as they are prone to jamming especially when hot not good in that climate!
3.The women are that tasty and not like the dykes who join the uk forces.

You are of course right to a large extent as it is a conscripted army however apart from the obvious people who cannot serve mental/physical, the relegious jews also do not although they quite often serve in the medical fields.
