I like that idea Bob! If you include A166 to Buttercrambe then cross country to Norton, across the A64 and then on up to either Pickering or off to Thornton-le-Dale and off onto the moors then you really get some wonderful driving roads.

Nigel

I`m nearly approaching the big 40 Bob

The road from Stamford through Buttercrambe to Norton is a good test of the twisties

It seems that Bob n Nigel have come up with a good route in the making. Is everyone happy with this? Still open for discussion. . . . . . .

The day of the trip will have to accomadate most, if not everyone.

So, have you any days that you, can, can`t attend? This will probably be held on a weekend if possible. As people need to earn a wage to afford such a luxury of owning a Scoob. Unless you are fortunate to get payed double time on a Sunday

Any thoughts?

Ant

P.S I know most people are available on a weekend, but for those that aren`t this is their opportunity to have their say.

Welcome to York Scoobs Simon.

Lots of things are planned for this club in the forthcoming future. We regularly hold meets at the Hopgrove on the 1st Monday of each month. But the winter weather has postponed this for a while. I hope to arrange another meet in the very near future, when the weather becomes a little better.

So, what Scoob did you buy then?

Regards

Ant

One of, if not THE, best road i have driven on.

Used to go to a clients in Pickering often, and used that road from Pock. Stunning, especially in the dark, and late at night

Some many years ago with my first scoob, i can remember leaving the pub in Malton, and getting back to the griffin in Market Weighton in just over 20 minutes!

Brother in law didnt want to miss last orders, and as i was nominated driver for the evening i duly obliged. Funny, his girlfriend looked pale when she got out of the car

I need peoples input on this run please. Such a shame, all these wintery mornings are being put behind us rather rapidly.

The roads are so empty, as people are tucked up in bed fast asleep.

Whilst we could have the freedom of their own downfall. EMPTY ROADS.

I was preliminary thinking of an early start, say before 10am?

Regards

Ant

Be sad to see it got though Alan. But I think you may have plans afoot for the RA

You don`t have to come in a Scoob on this run Alan, you can come in the other car Or I can pick you up Show you what the other side of Scooby ownership is like ie not as much bhp

Hi Ant

Sorry not been in contact for a while but had a busy time. Am now back in the groove so looking forward to a drive out if we can all agree a date
I should be available most weekends although occasionally need to take my lad to his football which are on Sunday afternoons. Will also try getting to a Hopgrove meet - seems a long time since we arranged those meets up at Buckles.

I remember my own first time on the Buttercrambe run, I was late picking up my lad from the scout camp at Huttons Ambo. Left Wheldrake at 2.30pm on a sunday afternoon and arrived at the campsite by 3pm! And that included taking it easy through Malton town centre!!!

Am desperately working on the WRX. Finally got some new rims, I'm on the look out for a genuine STi spoiler, sideskirts and fog light covers - WR blue would be a bonus. If anyone finds anything send me a message.

I'll try and keep in touch more from now on.

Cheers

Nigel

Thankyou for replying Nigel I know that Scooby Turbo works most Saturdays. Unless he can wangle one off

This run would be ideally held during the day at the present time as winter is upon us. Mmmm Donuts

But more summer runs are planned, including the Buckles Inn, which is where it all started many moons ago. I appreciate that these meets have fallen by the wayside with family & work commitments. But TOGETHER we can put them back on track.

So, can we have peoples thoughts on days & times that they would prefer please.

I am trying to get the York Scoobs up & running, so your help will be most welcome.

If you have any suggestions you would like to put forward, please don`t hesitate. WE can only make this work between us.

I have provided you with pics & videos for a while now, so all I ask in return is a little help on getting this underway.

Best Regards

Ant

If I'm home, I'd like to tag along on the runs out

I also want to do some track days this year, but I think I want to get a second set of wheels/tyres specifically for this.

The Buttercrambe road has been closed for some time due to flooding at the old mill. It may be open now though as the waters have subsided considerably around the Stamford Bridge area.

Sundays are normally my "lunch at Dad's" days and I don't like to miss out on an easy meal.......perhaps the runs can go towards Loftus!! lol (don't think he's got room for all of us though) :lol1 Don't worry....I reckon I can do both!!

Your more than welcome to tag along. The route I had initially thought of wasn`t involving that little stretch of road. I was thinking about starting from the Hopgrove as everyone knows where that is. But if you want to start en route from there, I`m happy. what does everyone else think? Nice cafe & sarnie shop in Stamford

As I said this is open to discussion. I am free every weekend, I do work the odd Saturday but nothing that I can`t build into my working week.

So have we any preferential dates?

York Scoobs will be doing a run to the NBO. Alan B kindly organised this last year, this you can sort this year Alan if you would like?

I am trying to give us some direction. There isn`t just one person in charge with this club. WE are all in charge as it is our club.

So if there is any activity etc you would like to do as a club, put your ideas forward please.

Ant
