*****!
Because certain types of people keep certain types of dogs, this is one of the reasons you are vegan ?

If we arent meant to eat animals then why are they made of meat

I have just had to let one of my dogs go, Ive kept the other one

in addition I have a cat, a hamster, a fish pond (with approx 10 fish) 4 fish tanks with various tropical fish, a royal python, and soon to get a rabbit, and maybe a chameleon

However none of this helps the thread, Apparition has said the course of action she is going to take, and is happy on her part for this thread to be closed

Not everyone gets a dog to make them look hard, just look at Squaresy

That's why I put the part about not agreeing with the wording of some people's posts - being a little rude.

However, my general point still stands. People commented that people like your daughter annoy them - those that don't bother training a dog properly then just give it away when the going gets tough because of that. You then got all uppety that everyone wasn't cheering your daughter on for giving the poor dog away.

In my opinion, it doesn't say much for you or your daughter if your first thought was to give the dog away, and now you've decided (rightly IMO) you may get some help from BarkBusters because someone on here suggested it. Why on earth hasn't she contacted local breeders or training groups before now to try and sort the problem out?

I also didn't realise you actually had to know people to post on their threads - I do apologise!

I'm crying laughing here........... if only you knew what you'd just said.

You couldn't be more off target if you tried.

I'm too busy to add any more to this thread. Either I can't convey properly in writing the true picture here or I'm writing in moon talk and someone out there in space is reading far more into it than there is.

BTW, I'm happy to call in on you Steve , in Northapmton on the 23rd July to introduce you to my daughter, her sons and myself , since we are visiting family there that day. Perhaps if you meet us , you'll see how wide of the mark this chav tag is. Also, maybe actual words can convey our position better than this third hand system.

My veganism is a reaction to how animals are kept and treated in general. We are made of meat yes and you sound like a typical 'meat-head'. Horses are made of meat. They eat only grass, and yet have that maginificent physique. I can only assume you're physique is made of the same mush that is your brain. Not many people will have the humility to agree with me but i would love to see a world where all animals are treated with love and kindness and basically left alone unless they need help. I fail to see how anyone would not want the same and bugger anyone who doesn't.

PMSL quality class statement full of accurate facts I see

BTW I have no problem with Vegans or Vegetarians for that matter(and yes I do know the difference) and i do agree on how some animals are kept

Oh and yes I guess I am a typical meat head, nothing I like more than a nice fry up of bacon, sausage, egg, & black pudding, in fact im off to have that right now

I do like horses, I have a field full of them 4 doors away from my house, ive never ate one tho

It's because you love animals sooooo much that you just had to 'own' animals, didn't you.... and in so doing you have been ultimately responsible for the deaths of 2 cats and all their victims.... countless birds, mice and who knows what. Your karma must be in tatters!

That is what makes me laugh!

(That and you calling Aberration a chav! )

It's not me you're hurting with your ignorance. Your karma is being damaged by your ill-regard for animals NOT mine. You laugh now but it won't last forever. It doesn't matter if you believe in the laws of cause and effect or not, THEY STILL GOVERN YOU.
- Go on then write something else sarcastic that mocks me. I realise to alot of people i sound like i'm mad when really it's the other way round. You're boasting to a vegan that you're going to have fry-up in a minute. That's clever. S'pect i haven't had that one before. Sad mate.

I see where you are coming from with this but If those reading my comments are not capable of understanding the numerous comments I've made about acting in a physical manner without causing any pain to the dog then they are unlikely to be influenced by anything you or I post anyway..

"Certainly when the boy goes too far with the bitch, she puts him in his place with what can only be described in human terms as a "bit of a kicking" Its highly effective, and he suffers no ill effects either physical or mental"

Fortunately mine, and no doubt yours, know their place in the human pack well enough that we don't have to resort to giving them a bit of a kicking. Trying to draw parallels in this way is a bit strange - we have more 'tools' in our 'armoury' that we can and should use.
I'm not for one minute suggesting that we should ever give any animal a bit of a kicking.

I'm not drawing any parallels - the action taken by animals towards others can be much more violent and aggressive than should ever be taken by a human. The example was to show that animals will resort to physical actions as part of their establishing dominance.

Of course, the point is making sure that any physical action by a human does not cause the dog any pain or other harm whatsoever.

There still seems to be people on this thread that think that the leader of the pack is there through something else other than fear.

I'll admit to not knowing as much about dog training as Apparitions daughter but I'm fairly certain that the Alpha Male is there cos he's good at fighting off the others - and when he shows signs of weakness he's history .

How you dog owners go about translating that is up to you - If I were training a dog it would respect me through fear - not because it likes me .

if you were training a dog you would be typing your posts with a straw between your teeth because it would have bitten your hands off by now..

If you start with them as a puppy, you can dominate them by fear. Barbara Woodhouse's approach was not a million miles off this, it can work, but it isn't the most effective way and you can't achive high levels of training with it.

Watch how they train working dogs - all done with praise & reward and it's incredibly effective, the dog works for you because it sees you as the Alpha and wants to please you to get a reward back - same thing works on kids BTW!
