Here's a couple more pics of mine now it's slowly getting there, it's been wiring loom time lately

and the answer is ...i'm doing as much as i can. I did half of the bodywork and then a freidn of mine has a bodyshop and they finished off the rest of the kit and then sprayed it.

By the way, this is my entry into the colour scheme option so that i can get mine rolling roaded when it's all back together.

And i have someone's signature of approval already ......

Minty, given the grille/bonnet gap mate, I take it they aren't for the same MY?

I take it you'll be swapping one or the other? I'd assume the bonnet, but since it already had 22B vents I wasn't sure.

BTW, looks well "minted"!

Edited to say, I just had another look and it looks like the bumper and grille is one-piece?

In that case, how you going to get the bonnet to sit nice with the grille given the shape of the grille?

Been ages since i last checked this thread out, it seems to be coming along nicely.

I'd personally say if your going the graphic path just stick to the 555 route and get it painted blue.

bonnet seems like a pre-99 one.. and therefore also the scoop, which I think is a shame.. should definitely have the MY99 scoop!

otherwise absolutely stunning car..

maybe one more thing.. could you explain something to a novice?
what are those "things" which connect the rear bumper and the bootlid for?

regards

They do the same job as the bonnet pins, should the catch fail so that it doesn't fly open

thanks..

does the catch ever fail on a bootlid? supposed to be pressed down by the wing, isn't it? well I guess there's a reason...

I guess they are used in competition so you can access the boot without the need for a key

I've currently got a Rag under the bonnet as i havent yet fitted the bonnet latch and catch & lead etc. so it will fit nicely once it's all back in place.

You tell me i got the kit from i guy who had listed it on ebay. He claimed that he imported it from Japan and then the car he was fitting it too pulled out on him and he was stuck with it so he was moving it on. It was a black hefty coplete kit... i'll try and grap soem early pics of it too.

mintys rear door shut is compleatly differernt from the htautos kit, the ht autos kit does away with the rear arch to sill section and gives that to the door skin.

did you not spot that ?

FWIW i prefere mintys over the HT Autos kit, but if i cant find a supplier of his, then i might settle for the HT autos version, when i get stuck back into the car next summer.

The kit on mintys is, I think, from this place....
http://www.mature-jp.com

Go to CATALOGUE page, and then to the GC8 car...

A lot more expensive than the HT Auto's kit, and a bit harder to get it over here...Like everything in this life, you get what you pay for..

Or you could just buy the kit from scoobyclinic!

They will supply the 3dr or 4dr kit and let you fit it yourself - I wouldnt recommend it to anyone though Ive just fitted a 5 door kit to a wagon, but its a little different to most
