They admitted they were having a number of distribution problems which is why it's scarce at the moment, however I was told these problems whould hopefully be fully resolved over the next week.
It seems we have a mixed message from Shell then. I picked up the Optimax leaflet form the petrol station on Saturday and called the 0800 customer service number in the back and after going through a few number presses fot her correct Dept was transferred to someone re Optimax and they siad in the autum Optimax is being relaunched with a higher octane version but no actual released date yet and is would be rolled out at all stations together.

They obviously haven't rolled the same information out to everyone within Shell !!!

I wonder when we will know the truth ?

Just for info BP Ultimate is now "new and Improved" (not that I use it unless can't get Optimax), still 97 RON but claimed to have 33% more engine cleaning power. Perhaps Shell just want to get in a war of words to compete.

I can't get it here but I can just across the border in either Germany or the Netherlands, about a 20 minute drive to the nearest V-Max filling station.
I use Octo+ SUL 98RON at 1.20euro or 81p per liter, the diesel for the GF's Focus is 1.03euro or 70.3p per liter

The V-Power available here is 98Ron, the first time I came here a year ago march I was hoping for the 100Ron and was disapointed to find the V-Power was "only" 98Ron
When I searched the Shell website for the 100Ron stuff there were no fillingstations in Belgium that sold it, the nearest was in Achen in Germany

The government know, as long as people have cars they will require fuel.

No matter what they charge, if we need it we will buy it.

I'm not saying I'm happy to pay high prices for fuel, but moaning will not change anything, all it does is bore others

Therefore the cost of fuel is always a concern and definitely something to moan about.
People saying I'll buy this new stuff whatever it cost is just giving a green light to the greedy fuel companies to charge more.

PS if money is no object, get yourself down to one of the BP stations selling the 103RON stuff, that's a real bargain only £2.42 a litre, let us know how you get on with it!
LOL good one!

It's called V-power, without a shadow of doubt. I'm a squaddie in Germany and it's what i use along with Aral Ultimate which is also 100ron (Aral forecourts look suspiciously like BP petrol stations?)

That's because BP bought Aral about 3 years ago. They just keep the Aral brand because it was well regarded in Germany.

Think youself lucky, theres only one pump where I live for a good 30 mile radius.

If Optimax is out (and it frequently is) I resort to a full tank of cheapo Tesco SUL and a bottle of Millers.

Only done it twice though.
