advice needed before killing neighbours..
we need a sketch, the description is at best, carp
also, dont see your conifers as a hinderence, use them to your advantage.
oh, and fix the situation yourself, grassing them up could end up with no end of bother and remember that neighbourly disputes rarely end up with an amicable solution

Sara - one thing to be VERY careful of - bear in mind that disputes with neighbours now legally have to be reported by sellers when selling their home ( and before some smart **** on here says dont tell them - you try it and get sued, then come back and say it was a good idea ! ) - dont let these idiots next door get to you so much it could ruin your chances of being able to sell the house in the future !

ive spoken to the dog warden and have been told that they charge £46 to return your dog and it goes up the longer they have it. if its weekend i can call the police and they will take the dogs in if i call them
MikeCardiff makes a very good point. You MUST declare any neighbour disputes when you move and I have some jolly good friends who are solicitors and part of their work involves sorting out situations where disputes weren't declared - and it's not that unusual to have the house sale cancelled and the sellers ending up forced to take their old house back - not nice...
Have you checked the deeds to the hosue? It doesn't matter one jot what has been verbally agreed - check the deed to see who is legally responsible for maintaining the boundary. That way if it's you then you'd have to fix it - but if it's them then they need to do it.
If it sounds expensive to find out, check to see if you have legal expenses cover with you home contents insurance - your insurer will refer you to one of their panel solicitors who'll advise you for no charge.

Sara - for the sake of your daughter and dog you really must do something to prevent another visit for these dogs. Sort out any other problems with your neighbours once they are safe. Don't live to regret not doing anything
Ps - bagsy second in the Q for coming round to fix it

Throw a huge barbecue, a sunday night would be good - all the male SN member can bring a bit of fence each and it'll be sorted in no time - and I'm sure your neighours would appreciate the sound of decat exhaust cars leaving every ten minutes or so until about 5 a.m.

as you can see from this pic i have huge trees all down my garden (over 100ft) and behind them is my neighbours fence. there is no way i can get behind my trees to reinforce the fence and it would take forever and cost a fortune

as to the BBQ that sounds like a good idea. Garden Glastonbury is another option, all night partying

Where the dogs have broken the fench plant a thony bush.
Was thinking of barbed wire but you may get sued.

just make sure your child & dog keep away. Go for something with 1 inch thorns, that should keep them out.

luckily my garden is as wide as its long so i have lots of room for the trees to grow wider
if i stop the dogs access they start somewhere else. i dont think they do it when the dog is inside. hopefully when i give the dogs to the warden they will realise that i mean buisiness and sort it out. they may only have to walk the dogs to put a stop to it. they are left bored all day, its no wonder they are trying to get out, maybe they are only escaping

Sara don't know if it's any different in Harpo but in where we used to live in Hemel as you looked down your garden the fence to the right was ours and the one to the left was the neighbours, if your on the wrong end of a terrace then you get the left side as well [confirmed by a council member i work with].
We're having problems with our neighbour as well, not malice just they bark at anything and don't seem to stop for breath, and as the owners out alot it gets fecking annoying.
What i would say is make it clear you won't tolerate their dogs coming on to your property and if they don't make more of an effort to control them then state to them you'll be handing the dogs to the warden to deal with. If you really want to be a pain remove their collars before you hand them over, it's a legal requirement for a dog now to be tagged with identification, not just the microchip but visual.
Hope you sort your problem, also a bit harsher a friends dad kept having a neighbours cat coming to his garden walking over the van, doing it's business etc. he solved this by streching some bare wire round the permiter and attached it to a trickle charger. When he came out the next morning the wire had been disturbed and no tell tails of a cat, it never came back either.

From: It's like finding a cocktail sausage, when what you really wanted was a rather large saveloy.
Turn a fairly highpowered hose on them ( the dogs & the neighbours!) - that's if you haven't got a hose ban

What you need to do is cut back the trees on the garden side to a height of three feet and install a simple mesh fence to that height on metal poles.
The trees will then grow back through the fence which will become hidden and, importantly, impregnable to any dog.
Just report the neighbours for drug dealing / benefit fraud / tax evasion / devil worship etc... they sound like right pikeys so are bound to be guilty of something.
#82 - I cant see how cutting the corner off of a giant green ice lolly would help ?
