Suprisingly inexpensive, just hope the fitment goes alright tomorrow, if so it sets me back less than £100

Which is quite rare when it comes to fixing these things

Perhaps I ought to spend a week saying "yes" to challenges, like in that film.

Maybe my life will become more exciting. maybe I'll decapitate a five-year-old who has run off from his parents into the road, trying to retrieve a lost ball.

Shall I do the research?

No no no, you dont need to go fast! you just need to let everyone know that you have a fast car.

Try blipping the throttle between gear changes and pip the horn at every young girl in the street, oh and having your arm hanging out of the window is obligitory!

It will enrichen you're life..... honestly!

I've yet to see anyone appear in my rear view unless I'm stuck behind some big Artic on a twisty road.
Overtake everything where I can (where it's safe to) and carry on at my own speed, which so far is faster than anyone else.
I don't think anything gets chance to race the Scoob as it appears and is round them and gone before they have chance to think about it usually.
I'll admit to having the odd Traffic light Grand Prix though.

Lowly 330 bmw!!!! Have you driven one mate? That lowly bmw will in 99% of circumstances (hard launch accepted) leave a standard uk wrx for dead cocker!!! I know I've owed both. Oh yes by the way, grow you immature child. Now I know why my insurance premiums are so high? Losers like you on the road.

I take the bait most of the time but not where the risks are high. e.g. Built up areas.

When I am in my MX5 enjoying the sun and relaxing, events do not turn into someone wanting to race me and I am chilled in the sun enjoying life and the open road.

In the Scooby someone may want to be an ****, I ignore them and guess what?? I am chilled in the sun enjoying life and the open road!

10% of issues are caused by others to mess up your life - 90% of issues arise because of your response to the initial event, calm down - slow down - get down and boogie!!

personally i find it unbelievable that someone would buy a scooby just for general day to day driving around and because they like the sound of the scooby engine, if thats the case buy yourself a mondeo and record a CD of a scooby engine and stop wasting all that valuable optimax. I'm old enough to know better and find that when it comes to taking the bait, resistance is futile!!!

TBH, 95% of the people who try and bait you. Only do it for a laugh and acknowledge you afterwards with a friendly smile or wave. What I cannot stand is people who go too far and drive beyond their limit and the road situation or in built up areas.

I have to admit I sometimes take the bait. I drive a 50 mile round trip every day to work and back. Most of it is country B roads etc and I often get baited or just decide to drive spiritedly.
I will say one thing though. I NEVER drive faster than I feel capable of or than the road permits. If the speed get higher than I am comfortable with I will always back off whether I am winning or losing.

Its fun to have a little play with another car on back roads but its not if you go off at a corner.
Driving fast on a road is all about judging the conditions and making sure you are always giving yourself enough leway to stop for that time when you don't "expect" that car to be stopped round the next corner.
I always expect poeple to do the worst thing possible like pulling out of the turning just down the road in front of you. That way you are never suprised or unprepared when you get the 1% of the time that they actually do.

I don't do the traffic light Grand Prix (anymore (and isn't the real one boring?)) and I avoid inner city shaningans. I really enjoy it however, when there's a like minded enthusiast on a well sighted a/b-road and we can string a few corners together. Off track and with a clear road I find I don't even need to be in the RA to have fun. The GF and I spent last week in Herefordshire where the roads are superb. Had some cracking drives in her 1.25 Fiesta and took a load of saitisfaction from staying with averagely driven performance focused cars. I don't get goaded anymore; I have nothing to prove .

I generally don't take the bait, but normally don't hang about at the lights.

I'll happily use the acceleration to get into my space at my speed and stay there, but won't take up one of those "see who can go faster" offers.

I'm particularly irritated by those who speed through 30 or 40 zones. There are a couple of roads round here where the 30 stretches well past the houses, and it's annoying when someone speeds by overtaking you well before the national speed limit sign, only to hold you up a half mile later as they continue doing 50 or whatever single speed their car is capable of.

What's far more satisfying is driving through town at within the speed limit when some a**e behind you wants to go faster, and seeing their irritation at being "held up". I end up in this situation all the time, and I just sit back and enjoy the fun, it's like passive - and completely legal - road rage! And if the driver behind resorts to gestures, flashing their lights or sounding the horn, well that makes it even more enjoyable.

I have absolutely no problem with two equally dim people racing down a road.... hit it as hard as you want from standstill till the speed limit.

What really gets on my **** is when two racers fly past at 100+ mph two inches from each others bumpers or doing 60 in a 30 zone..... and with sods law being what it is they will end up smashin some other innocent person to bits or getting caught by the fuzz and then writing a thread on here going 'I am about to lose my licence.... life is so unfair' when the thread should say 'I am about to lose my licence.... because I being stupid'.

That's all very nice dear; but do you enjoy a bit-of-a-drive with like minded people when the conditions prevail? If not, try here...

Martin2005 i did credit with you more intelligence than this but judging by your reply to James, you need to get off your moral high horse.

like I said... I have absolutely no problems with people racing but as long as it is not dangerous.... but that's where the problem lies... most people I have seen racing, be it in a Evo, skyline scoob or whatever, seem to choose to throw safety out of the window.

Cheers Banny....I'm not entirely sure how to respond to that. I can only assume that Martin is drunk.
