I better highlight this as it is wrong, cast aluminium does corrode - quite severly as a matter of fact.

Our old Honda (cast ally deck) was scrapped for this very reason (...plus it consumed as much oil as it did petrol ) - it quite literally fell apart. Stainless steel handle bars were still ok though . Galvanised or stainless steel decks are better than aluminium or enamelled/plastic coated steel - but there are very few and far between (more common abroad though ).

LOL - go and buy a steel deck at your peril.... a 15 or 20 yr guarantee on an ally deck is not uncommon!
