This is part of the email i got off Andy

Hi Simon
An Ecutek remap is £500+v for the initial mapping and licence fee. If the
ECU is already licenced it is £350. If it is licenced and has been
previously mapped by me then it is £200.
regards
Andy
Those are plus the £70 callout each...

So yours RLE would be £420 in total, unless Andy was the original person to do the Tek 3 map.

Cheers Simon thats great. Just wish Andy had done the original one for the previous owner then I'd have been saving a bit more!!! Ah well..............

Powerstation quoted me £200.00 plus vat then I had my petrol to factor in (call it £80.00) not to mention a 10 hour round trip. Guess if I look at it that way they work out about the same and there's less hassle. Plus having had Andy map my Classic I wouln't go to anyone else now anyway

Apologies for the confusion!
Sorry mate it did confuse me lol

To be honest mate i`ve also been quoted less, but its not all about saving money for me...I`d rather pay a reasonable price but get the best person for the job, on the job...And after looking round Andy`s car, and watching it perform, reading his website and realising he`s clued up to foook, he`s definately the bloke for the job...

I agree Simon. As I say he worked wonders on my Classic so those getting the Apexi are in for a treat.

Damn this is going to be an expensive month. In touch with Harvey now about porting and wrapping the headers along with a flexi uppipe. Then I need to buy a 3" decat exhaust system (Revolution here I come) and finally I might as well add one of those cheap and nasty TD05 20G turbos from Mr Forrest. Just cant beleive I sold mine in February without ever fitting it.

Going to be a busy few days.

It is gonna be an expensive month for yer then....Puts my £650 map to shame....lol

Well i have just spent a few hundred on the 3" decat system, and £250 for gauges and pod....So catching you up a bit....lol...

Most of my prior mods have been interior stuff, carbon fibre bits and pieces, rear spoiler, stereo, windows tinting but now starting to go for the bhp mods...

I`ll be asking Andy whats the best things to save for when he`s mapping my car to go on from there...

stainless steel, slip jointed flexi uppipe wrapped is £135.00. Think he's designed these to go specifically with the ported headers as well to get maximum benefit.

Harvey has kindly offered to give my car the once over to determine what mods will suit best before I splash the cash. I'll be going up there tomorrow morning so if anyone needs me to ask anything (or pick anything up for them) let me know.

Give me a shout if you fancy going-will be setting off about 08.30/9.00 and should be informative. Just trying to do some research on what will be best for the car - 18G or 20G turbo-same price so cant even use that to determine.

Cricket will be a go go unless it rains in which case I'll be rejigging my plans to suit. At this rate it will be my last drinking session for a while so better make the most of it (except for the birthday of course )

Now bugger off I'm busy and this is a serious (wallet bashing/ credit card chomping) thread

You know being IN the pub makes better sense – check the weather bud – failing that – get your self through after cricket! Saying that – suppose it depends on what state Ads is in!!

Just got back from Harveys @ Paul Stablers. Refreshing to see someone give you advice saving you money rather than getting you to spend it!

We've decided there is no point in going with the turbo upgrade unless I plan on changing to a FMIC along with the appropriate injectors. Stock turbo is good for what I need right now so best making the use of that. May have a look at the FMIC some time later but for now sticking with changing the exhaust system and headers and I'm assured I will notice a big difference after the map.

Andrew (T5OLF) - he did mention that you had been in touch regarding the uppipe and had one in his car for you ready for me to take but checked his paypal and nothing had come through. Would have paid for it for you mate and you could have given me the money back but wasn't sure whether you'd changed your mind about getting one or anything so thought it best I leave it.

Looking forward to getting it all sorted.

I can't wait till August really as I need the car back on the road......but the guy I bought the FC off has neally the same spec as me engine wise. If I can get everything fitted I suppose I could get a power run at TEG and if its safe I can wait.

Is there no way you can take a days holiday Simon

I am off for the week commencing 26 June and "should" be able to book a day off mid-week at other times.

August does seem like quite a way off. I know it's worth the wait but it would be better to get it done sooner for the sake of a days holiday.

I suppose i could take a holiday...

How about the 29th and 30th of June....Thursday and Friday..

I can just book the Friday off and have it done then, and then you other 3 can choose which 2 get it done Thursday and which one is with me on Friday ?
