I think you'll find we were above you lot long before then
Oh now you weren't!

93/94 - NUFC = 3rd CFC = 14th

94/95 - NUFC = 6th CFC = 11th

95/96 - NUFC = 2nd CFC = 11th

96/97 - NUFC = 2nd CFC = 6th

01/02 - NUFC = 4th CFC = 6th

02/03 - NUFC = 3rd CFC = 4th

So, of the 10 possible seasons before Abramovich's money arrived, we finished higher than you lot 6 times...

idf101 I think all the small number of Leeds fans on Scoobynet are asking for is for you to substantiate your claims.

It's like me posting "Idf101 is a Chelsea tw*t" I don't know you & I had no opinion of you till a couple of days ago.

Interestingly is this the same vile management who was in-charge of Chelsea 3years ago?

And before you start I was upto a year ago helping providing medical support for Chelsea footballers via CXH before Bryan English became the CMO

It will always be difficult to substantiate my views to the satisfaction of some people however i will try.
I have been involved as a fan for nearly 30 years and during that time i have of course travelled to many football grounds and have met hundreds if not thousands of different fans of all clubs at differing levels and there are two teams that more often than not are mentioned in an adverse way for reasons previously stated and one of them is Leeds.
Of course other clubs are involved but i am ignoring local rivals up and down the country and merely stating a general view shared by many over a long period of time.

As for the vile management statement i stand by that and it was a joyus day when that tw*t left!

Fair play to you for your medical involvement in the past and that would be my opinion whatever club you were involved with except Leeds

I had some serious trouble at Elland Rd once, but I've seen worse at other grounds: Old Trafford, Goodison, The Den, Roker Park, Stamford Bridge, "Awesome" Park, White Hart Lane, Filbert Street and probably the worst of all - St James' Park when Liverpool fans ran riot after Malcolm McDonald had scored a Hat-trick on his home debut.

As someone who's been to Elland Rd many, many times, I'd say Leeds Utd are no worse than some and a lot better than others. I've always found the people of Leeds very friendly and helpful - even when I've been wearing a Newcastle Utd scarf!

I find it rather ironic that Chelsea's ground carries the same name as a battle in Yorkshire - not far from Elland Road!

A bit embarrassed stating where you finished in the seasons 96/97 to 00/01?
And in all of those seasons you finished above us you won???

You need to try harder than that... The positions were similar to where you finished in 93 - 96!

And at least we don't rely on a mighty benefactor. NUFC survives on the money it makes through the season, so is in little danger of going t!ts up if Fat Freddie (or whoever), leaves. With losses like CFC make, what will you do if/when Roman gets bored and moves on? Before you point to the Hall Family and their investment, it was just that, an investment and the money has long since been repaid with interest. They cost NUFC money, rather than gave us any. I know, I'm a shareholder (who never cashes his dividend cheque) and I read the accounts and attend the shareholders meetings.

Good luck to you and your team. I don't hold grudges - apart from the ones against The Smogs!

Very true. I guess enough money wasn't thrown the team's direction. Chelsea have made up for it however. At least when we were runners up (twice and so on), we were respected and our Football enjoyed by many. In 1996, we sold more shirts than any other Club in the World. Only Brazil sold more.

Toon! Toon! The Entertainers!

Can't see Chelsea ever being called that.

Being a Chelsea fan, I might've guessed you wouldn't know what entertainment was...

The 1995/96 Newcastle team were christened "The Entertainers", and undoubtedly, most people outside Old Trafford wanted them to win.

We were certainly popular and respected. Again, something that Chelsea will never be!

I think you'll find that teams that never win anything, are more felt sorry for rather than "popular and respected" .

And the teams that have fans that bleet on about being "a big club" get on peoples nerves

Chelsea are two times Premier League Champions, something Newcastle will never be

As already proved, prior to your massive injection of funds, we did better in the EPL than you lot!

Dont (sic) suppose you were trying to "buy the success"
Keegan spent around £75 million and sold players for £40 million. Not a bad return on the kind of dosh you lot splash for one player...

I think you'll find that teams that never win anything, are more felt sorry for rather than "popular and respected"

being "a big club"
11th in the World Club Rich List and making more money than you lot! We've got an excellent stadium too. You rely on a man who made his money under dubious circumstances and play in a cr@p hole - 2 actually - London and Stamford Bridge!

Chelsea are two times Premier League Champions, something Newcastle will never be
Well done! I hope for your sake Roman stays and keeps up his interest, or you'll be Bankrupt two time Premier League Champions. And Bankrupt is something Newcastle Utd will never be!

Enjoy your Weekend.
