Simon, we have the same scenario as before. Only a few people have stepped forward.
We need to arrange something worthwhile, but we need the bodies to make it happen.
As James says, the IOM has been discussed to offer something closer to home that we can do this year and over the weekend. It was also mentioned that we could camp to reduce costs and to offer some fun...
Therefore unles there's a big inlfux, we'll have to postpone until we can get committed numbers.
I'll be raising this at the monthly meet to get a consensus on what poeple want for a trip this year and look to secure some solid numbers for this smaller trip....

No problem, I was'nt sure if it had been mentioned recently, so thought I may as well bring the thread up and see.
Btw was it Huddersfield Hifi you recommended to me? , as I did'nt get anywhere with Vickers in York.

From experience this year Alan, get a non-refundable deposit on anything that needs paying for
IOM is well worth going too, not sure about the camping bit though, we did it in style

Fantastic Trip but Stelvio is nothing compared to the other passes i.e Furka susten.
My tip do not go in Jul Aug passes will be too busy
Went last year with CW42 awesome but its a long way and fuel cost £640 for the trip :-)
After the success of the 2005 Stelvio trip Looking at arranging a similiar trip over a week Sept 2007 including Col de Turini etc

I'll be there on that trip stormy
Worse thing you could do is take your kids on a trip this long Paul, it's one thing to be a car lover, and another thing entirely to drive the distances involved on a trip like this. As a passenger for such a long journey, you'd have to have a massive stack of incar dvd's to keep them amused, and even then, they'd get mightly bored

True about the kids, add distance and the pace you find you drive the passes at :-) brakes suffered enough with just two in the car and very little baggage
Nice to see you at the Laxey wheel Chris, we have a house in Laxey......when were you lot there?
Al, i will be getting the opportunity to go on the trip if it is in late August.
I will be fairly flexible on dates though as i am going part time soon. Maybe we could have some serious advanced driving sessions on the continent if you will wait for me in our standard Scoob wagon?
That is assuming i am invited.........no probs if not

As the take up on the two continental trips have been low, we're looking at bringing it back nearer home and the IOM TT course was mentioned for a long weekend trip... with either cmping or cheap B&B on the cards...
Any help here would be welcomed.. as well as your attendance....
As for the advanced stuff.. we need to talk about the Rush hour course and another session up Whitby way...

I wish I could mate, really do. But funds are very tight this year, and after our 5 star trip to the IOM, even tighter now!
Thanks for the offer of accomodation Paul, I'll maybe take you up on that one day

Sorry for all the thread hi-jacking as well Alan

No probs Chris/ Alan, the house sleeps at least 6 with a good driveway and a pub, chinese takeaway and Italian restaurant in the village. Ring me and let me know, that goes for all.
Paul.
Isle of Man rules for serious drivers.I raced the bike there in 1995/6 and it still buzzes me to the core when i go round the course now.
You come off the mountain shaking.
