Well it was me who sold my Terzo last week so I just as well have my say aswell .....

Mine was a 98R with 34K FSSH, mint, no mods, the best offer I got through the Subaru dealers was £12,600 (this price was agreed prior to September 11th). I would expect to privately get quite a bit more but ma lot of people are VERY wised up to the market and will only pay "trade" prices.

There have been some very good points made on this thread although I'm not sure it's in the right place if this guy is trying to sell his car!!!!

A car is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay, a Terzo is still quite a sought after car and the dealers DO like them!!! They know they can always charge a premium and they look nice on their forecourts. If this was a standard Turbo many dealers wouldn't even look at it becuase the market is flooded with them. From watching Terzos come and go at my local dealer (at premium prices) it would seem that they are still sought after.

I think if you wanted to sell it quickly then what a dealer would offer you (probably about £10,500?) is about the best you'd get from a private buyer who "knows" the market. However, I think if you didn't mind it taking a while and advertising it in a few places you would probably find someone who would give around £12k? I wasn't prepared to wait as I didn't want the time-wasters and tyre-kickers that this car WILL attract.

I wanted a quick sale and

Agree this is probably not the place to talk market values in general. However the thread did start by asking what the price should be.

Sometimes you get what you ask for.

I agree with newboy's summary.

Mellow, I hope you're not saying i'm a muppet as it is quite clear to me, you're the only kermit round here son.
READ the posts. I merely stated "someone" (John), insulted the Terzo by his valuation.
Don't you have a P1? what would you think if "someone" offered £4,000 less than it was REALLY worth. The mind boggles at some of the people on this board

Alan....Lol mate...heated debates hey....great !

I s'pose we're all entitled to our own opinions, my thoughts on this particular thread is that John is correct in his valuation of the car taking into account it's mileage etc...
As for being a muppet.....well we're all a bit muppetish sometimes SON....I dont mind if someone offers me loads less than my cars worth either coz I'm good looking, young (ish),and very rich......who cares

Ok then we're all muppets!
I seriously doubt the good looks as you gave away the fact you're "youngish".(Mellow (old age) which thus leads to mental problems.
As for the money, I'd rather be skint that have an attitude like yours bud.

if mellow is so rich why does he have a p1 not a 22b or an evo zero fighter
then tries to make money selling his cast off goods on this site.

This thread is classic good against evil. LOL

Insult a Terzo, that's seriously funny.

I just tell things the way i see them, if you dont agree then fine, i dont have any problems with that. You're entitled.

I suggest you dont get Mellow Yellow started on his cars cos he will seriously **** you off with the kit he has or has owned. My favourite is the F40.

Just because you're a Mod, The "my mates car is better than your car" stance only goes to show, you know very, very little.
YOU SHOULD RESIGN and give the Mod job to someone who is unbiased and doesn't pucker his lips to rich ars**
Even if "they had" an F40
Look where being "rich" gets you!!

I dunno. I tell the truth about what i feel is the market and i get all sorts of nonsense in return.

I always try and be as honest and up front as is possible. I am sure anyone with any history on this board will back that up.

I am a buyer and a seller right now. I am selling my MY98 Sport, I am also selling my Westfield. I have no self interest at all as the value of the cars i am selling are almost tripple what i will be buying.

I dont have my head up my *** re valuations right now. The market is seriously poor for anything of any expense. Just take a look at the money scoobs are going for in this forum. The only ones that seem to be selling are going for under 10K. I have more to lose than to gain from low prices.

As to being MY love interest. Very amusing. I have met Chris just once and thought he was a decent chap. He has done well for himself and has some really nice kit as a result. My favourite is the F40 he had which i never saw but he was generous enough to offer me a drive of it after reading a post by me saying that was my dream car.

Sorry you dont like what i am saying re the value of the car. Thats just how i see the market, ignore me if you like, i couldnt care less. There are far more important things in life that telling you what you want to hear.

I suggest that if no-one is interested in this car the thread is closed.

I'm not interested in 'My F40 that I owned'
and 'I can sell a sport for the same price of buying a Turbo'

Perhaps I should hang around and pi$$ on other peoples parade

Oi! Stop arguing fellow Scoobynetters!

Bluie,

John and Mellow are only trying to offer realistic advice. I sold my MY97 R in February 2000 and was amazed at the lack of interest. Most Scoob dealers weren't buying full stop and only a handful would offer half decent money.

A previous post said "One was on for a trade in at £12,600". Does that mean you've been offered £12600? - if so take it quickly, its absolute top money for a 60000 mile three year old car. At the end of the day you can buy a brand new EU import for just £4000 more.

Good luck with selling the car. Just out of interest, please post on here the price you get for it

Cheers,

Ian.

Cheers,

Ian.

Unhappy

I have been offered £7700 (i extended the waranty for 12 months so £7500 in reality) on my Sport, just waiting for the sale of the guys own car to go through, usual crap.

I am seriously considering keeping the Sport though because of my break in has left me in limbo land until i know where my insurance claim sits. I am down £2K because of that.

Sorry Lads,

Had to jump in here. I have just bought a 98 Impreza Turbo, with aircon, 17's and 57k with FSSH....I paid £11k from a dealer..which I consider to be a good price...I think the Terzo is worth more than £10k for sure....all I have to say is a car is worth what somebody is willing to pay. It is a buyers market out there believe me...and although some of these cars are going for sod all dough...chances are they are thrashed s##t.

I looked at loads and it is worth paying over the odds for a decent one...in other words it is worth 12-13k

you paid 11K at a dealer. That makes it 9.5K tops as a private sale value so that backs up everything said so far. I dont understand your conclusion?
