I had a 1999 STI Type R before I got the Honda, yes it doesn't have the same neck snapping acceleration but it's not too bad, get it in the VTEC zone and it doesn't hang around
and because its more of a "progressive" acceleration its surprising how quickly you get to 90-100+ Mph.
Anyway, let me know if you would like to see some pics. I haven't even advertised my car yet but I will keep your post in mind should I sell mine in the not too distant future

Its justifying it to the wife after having owned and sold 6 Impreza's that we "need" another!
