Question for Powerstation...when the remap is done, will the dealer know if they plug in to do engine diagnostics?

Cheers

lots of differing opinions:

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=492893

I spoke discreetly to a subaru dealer and he has said that most of them wont be able to tell but if the engine expires completely and is sent back to Subaru he thought that they would be able to tell.

It does not invalidate the warranty on the whole of the car though - if they can tell.

I dont hear of many newish subaru engines that die and I for one am willing to take the risk.

Its pretty simple to tell.

Your be running more boost once a remap has been done.

It doesn't need high tech diagnostics to know that.

If you map it and you get problems that require 'warranty' work to be done, then don't complain if the dealer suddenly denies your claim.

That said, it all depends on the dealer.

Mine was heavily modded and only 2 months of warranty left, and I still got a brand new 6 speed gearbox under warranty.....

Can Powerstation make a copy of the Prodrive map so it could be re-loaded if there are any problems?

No, I don't think so. AFAIK, a tuner has no access to the map locked in by a previous tuner.

Yup, no probs with the lambda

As I said somewhere before though, make sure you have the proper gasket for centre to downpipe - it doesn't come with the dpipe and you have to buy if from Subaru (£23 too!!!).

Yeh I will get a dealer to fit the exhaust I think before I book it with PStation, or get Pstation to do it.

Hello Dan,

I sold your old WRX last year to buy another bike, wish I hadn't so bought a MY00 a month or so ago - cracking car your old car btw, nowt wrong with it

Anyway, when I had mine remapped @ Powerstation a couple of weeks ago, Rich was happy to let the Group Buy carry on for a while. Just email him, or give him a ring and mention the Group Buy on Scoobynet to arrange a suitable day.

The 3 port boost solenoid is able to control the boost better. Mine before fitting it didn't want to go above 1.1bar, but afterwards no problems at all, Rich could set the boost to where he wanted - 1.25bar.

Very happy with the remap and Powerstation - top stuff, highly recommend it

Is the 3 port boost solenoid needed on a new age... I was under the impression it was a classic mod ?

Newage has a 2 port as standard, so yes, a 3 port is needed for better boost control.

As you haven't changed the turbo, I'm guessing it would be about the same as mine - 270-280?

Unless the addition of the FMIC means you can run more boost, in that case a bit more bhp?

Its plenty - 273/272 for me

Oh, just thought - have you changed downpipe with your decat or just centre? Biggest gain is with downpipe?

Nice one

I really enjoyed the whole experience - take about three coats though if you want to stay in the mapping/rolling road room, as god damn its cold in there!

Default Remap

I live near Maidstone ,Kent. How far is Powerstation's place .

So if you could post any interest here - we only need 5, for the money saved you could get your geometry set-up properly!
