will drill the hole for mine at the bottom. best way that i can think is to take the back box off, put some masking tape over where you intend to mark and drill the hole. then once marked and using a centre punch make an indent so that the drill doesn't slide about. make sure not to punch the tail pipe from the under side - you'll squash it!! then nice sharp drill and away you go. just be carefull!!!

rb5 69 - pics look good to me. i should be able to shop one of those. god i forget how well that style of exhaust suits the classic scooby. and i've got one on mine! it's just never that clean

Thanks Matt,

Car was only as clean as that cause it had just been washed .... and the exhaust polished!!

"make sure not to punch the tail pipe from the under side - you'll squash it!!" .... not sure what you mean by that mate?

Look forward to the pictures though,

Norm.

Message from Ian as follows

You can drill the hole anywhere at the bottom of the pipe and as far forward as you wish , you just have to rememeber that you still need to get it out so i wouldn't put it too far down the pipe.Yes we can supply the bolt.

Hi Derek,

No problem, the more the better. I have put a link on the SIDC and Scoobycity websites myself.

Added my name to this Group Buy .... althought the thought of drilling a hole in my lovely exhaust is bringing me out in a cold sweat!!

I think an e-mail may already have been sent, but just in case, a fellow member of the RB5 Owners Club (www.rb5oc.co.uk) asked if it would be possible to have one made for his TSL Firestorm back box with a 5" tailpipe??

i know how you feel rb5 69. when i put mine in yesterday for that pic it was quite hard to get back out. i've not driven round with it in so i can't comment on if it would be ok to just poke it in the backbox and hope that nobody tries to nick it or if it will work it's way further in or out.
