Oi Mikey, if you want, I can still give you that early morning call - drop me a text if you do. Either that or I'll see/not see* you at the start point
*Delete as applicable, as to whether you are in fact dragging your **** out of bed at what you consider to be some godawful early hour of the morning

Weather conditions in the Peaks
Bit of overnight rain - roads drying nicely
Partial cloud cover with the sun peeping thru
Hope the rain holds off and it's a great day for you all
NB This WILL bring all the day tourists out to the region (especially as it's Bank Hol w/end, so beware normally *sensible* individuals who wouldn't dream of dawdling in the middle of the road in town, but seem to think our roads up here are just very wide pavements
Soz I'm not along this time... new tyres and brakes needed on the Fab!

Hello all, hope you had a great time, the weather just about held out for the day. Before anyone starts any tall stories or plain old bollocks, I'd just like to let you know what happened to a member of our group today.
As you know, the SMACS came over to show our support for what is always an excellent tour. There were 5 cars, with a 6th joining us once in Derby. We got to the start point in plenty of time, did our meet and greets, (nice to see you again Marv and Paul ) then were sent off with Alan and Kim in tow as well. We also had another straggler with us, don't know who you are mate, but thanks for hanging on after the accident. I'm the guy who gave you the map so you could carry on the route
So, we're on our way, and after losing everyone within 2 roundabouts, and meeting up with The Chief, we finally all got together, only to be overtaken after stopping in a layby by the next group
Nevermind, it wasn't a race, and a chance to chill out and admire the beautiful derbyshire scenery Eventually we hit the back roads, and the pace got a little brisker at the front. I was leading the way, with Joh navigating, and doing a great job until we realised following the written instructions was not very good (more work needed on those marv/paul )
We regrouped just after Weeton Mill, at the bottom of the valley, with one or two taking the oppurtunity for a refreshment stop Then we were off again, now following the couple in front, who looked like they knew where they were going. Eventually we got to the infamous tunnel, and mindful of what had happened the year before, I let the car ahead of me go first, clear the tunnel, then I went through with all windows open and in 2nd gear Nice sound!
Through the other side, and round the right hander following the others over the bridge and just before the hill the radios come to life!
After turning round and getting back to the tunnel, I can see Dr.P and his family by the side of his car.
For those that passed the scene afterwards, you can imagine the damage to the car, but until Dr.P posts on here, or gives me permission too, I'm not going into detail about any damage to his car.
Needless to say, and thankfully, both him, his wife and 2 kids are ok.
I'll leave it to Dr.P to go into the accident, as I neither saw it or had any part of it, so can't comment.
After everything had been cleared, and Dr.P and his family were safely off to Hospital for a routine checkup, we headed to the nearest pub for some much needed dinner, as it was now 3pm
A big thanks to all of my fellow SMACS members who helped in the situation, you were excellent guys and gals. It was a pleasure to be out with you all today. See you all again on thursday.
Chris.

Hi All,
Bit upset that I missed out on this today, but as I was about to leave (!) my Dad (he lives with me) said he wasn't feeling too well. Wasn't sure what it was, but he was complaining of no energy, and a few other things, so I wasn't prepared to leave him on his own, bearing in mind that he's 83, and is suffering a little with old age these days.
He's okay now, so I'm no longer worrying. If the weather is clear (yeah, right), I might get out for a bit of a mini tour on my own tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about the incident, hope everyone's all right.
