Phew that's a relief, I won't bother popping down to Matalan for a Burberry tracksuit then!

 

Truly amazing how myths spread through the internet...

The driver of the car is either Gilles Stievenart, the owner of the circuit and the driving school located at Abbeville/France, or it was his son (also an instructor), can't remember which one (Steve or Evens), it's been bloody 4 years now. Lady was a passenger.

They are all experienced racing drivers. The accident got them quite a bit of bad press.

 

How old is that video. Remember when it first came out. That was a new EVO driven by the Son of the course owner

 

As I said: 2002. First year that they had turned the circuit into a tarmac one. Before that it was mostly gravel.

They used to do courses with an STi4 and a very nice Escort Cossie with ALS, an incredibly loud car, and an Evo6. The Evo7 was pretty new at the time of the crash.

Gilles is also the owner of a few magazines about motorsport. His partner, Anne-Chantal Pauwels used to be the co-pilot of F. Delecour.

And the real reason for the crash was a slow puncture, it's all coming back now
