Gonna be good on Saturday, fans relaxed, players relaxed, poor management away and a home defeat to pompey

TOON TOON
Over the moon that Souness and his cronies are out.
Desperate football, no coaching, players playing like strangers, no passion.
I hope they find someone fairly quickly (but obviously the right man for the job), cos we all know what Roeder did to West Ham....

Roeder and Shearer
Oh well you wanted him out, got what you wanted, lets hope that rag bag of managerial experience keeps you up before Sven pulls into town to poke your birds and drink your beer.

If they were guaranteed 5 years to build a team/management ethos then at least they would have a chance. If after that time they had not advanced then nothing has been lost as the record for the club is not good anyway.
Team I support have had a cr4p season up until December when the managers job was put at risk. They are now 3rd in the league(SPL) after a great run, in the last 16 of the Champions league and still in the cup. He was given a chance as he has been there for 3 years and had horrific injury problems to his squad this season which def caused some of the probs. A lot of supporters still want him out but in the long term I feel changing managers causes problems for the teams.
Just my thoughts. Tend to try to understand reasons rather than paint someones name on a bedsheet followed by OUT
it's when Newcastle supporters say they want someone like Sam Allardyce

Is it because of stability within the club enabling them to finish up in the Premiership each year. The clubs that try to chop and change all the time seem to suffer (don't want to mention a specific) whereas the ones that keep the stability tend to realise their natural position such as Bolton, Charlton, Arsenal etc. Agreed vast sums of money can help as in Chelsea for a quick fix. When Souness bought big they got injured

Souness was never the right man for the Toon. He was well down the original list when he got the job, the fans didn't like him from day one, and no matter how much time he might have been given, he wouldn't have achieved anything. Square peg in round hole springs to mind.
I agree with what you say about stability. However, there will never be that at Newcastle when the chairman is more interested in getting himself on the tv more than the team are. Is it not strange that most if not all the clubs that are doing well let their football do the talking, not their chairman??
Freddy's got quite a job on his hands trying to get someone in, and it must be in the back of his mind how bad his last appointment made things. Plus, who would want the job anyway?? On the other side, the first guy to bring success will be a God up here forever....

It doesn't want to be that bloody swedish fool that replaces souness. We'll no doubt end up with someone not suited to the job.

Not so sure I'd say Leeds Utd were, "languishing"... 3rd in the Championship and heading for a Play Off place. I would always say Leeds should be in the Top Flight anyway. And we all know the name of the Chairman who helped put them in the Division they are now...
There are very few Football Chairmen who aren't self publicists, who're in it for the fame. Worryingly, Fat Freddie's main aim at NUFC is the money, not the fame. He takes far too much out of the Club.
