yup the irish!!
Shouldn't slate the Irish, because you've heard of the Nigerian scams. Admittidly, if any Irish guy offers you shares in a gold mine in South Africa for your car, then step back!
Otherwise, why should you trust Irish people less than English? People should be taken on face value, if they seem fair, then chances are they are. Still clear the money/cheque with your bank before handing over your car (as you would with an English buyer).

I do remember seeing a warning thread on here a while back about a seller being ripped off by an Irish guy. The thread gave his name.
Shame that the search function is broken, just to be sure (to be sure
).
Does anybody remember it?

Never meant to offend!
my son is actually irish ( i.e. born in ireland to an irish mother )( i really am the father )
i was not implying anything about the people! christ there are many people here ready to rip me off given the chance!
i spose it gave some enternainment for a couple of days though! not sure how much of the banter is light hearted and how much is serious!

its not a silly thread at all!
is there anything i should be aware of?
no!
how simple is that! the answer could have been " yes " but it wasnt!
i wasnt asking about a particular guy but " scams " in general!( but obviously refering to the fact that a guy from ireland had shown an interest in my car )
