Unhappy Whats it worth in current State - requring a rebuild

if you have been following the thread you will probably know that I bought this car from a fellow Scoobynetter and Hampshire subaru member, unfortunately bad luck intervened and on its second trip out after me buying the big end whent

The car is currently at local subaru tuners and has been stripped down to assess extent of damage and rebuild options. The bits that need failed were the n03 big end and also some bore wear on inspection, a new clucth is also required.

The dilema and sore point now is that I do not have a bean to pay for any repairs and struggling to find the cash to pay for the engine out and strip so far

So I either find somewhere to store it for the next year and hope I win the lottery or a family member leaves some inheritance or she has to be sold as an ongoing project for someone

would make a perfect 2.5 project for someone

Any ideas what she is worth as a project

Thanks Steve

Wagoners Know better and can rise above it

Clutch pics later, but plate/ piece has signs of heat cracks, bearing also notchy and no grease left

Cambelt tensioners - have left the building, no hydraulic fluid left.

Not stripped heads yet for inspection

Pistons worn on the sides

ypu can push down on pistons about 5mm or more where bearings has collapsed - confirmed by lumps of metal in sump and swarf.

I feel like frying tonite

comparison

original was 'Exceedy stamped on it

thats fubar'd

Trails, you weren't wrong when you said my clutch was slipping

Shiny new replacements

In need of TLC

all ready for new paint

Next inthralling issue coming soon when we strip the heads and get the crank out

I was sorry to hear about your green one but looks like you've got a lovely example as a replacement

I like the colour too.

Don't let the barstards grind you down, I say.

I've bought a disklok and remembered to put the security post in.

Plans for a garage are afoot.

If you get a prefab wooden one you don't need planning permission jsut so you know. Just make sure you cast a descent slab floor in it and then just put a couple of sneaky courses of bricks inside to give it etra rigidity!!

Did you get it from the Wakefield Police station that I suggested, for £40?

agreed but the ******* do tend to covers them up, cut them off or when to high I've come across air rifles being used!!!

time consuming measures are always best, dislok is deffo one of the best espcially if you weld a bar along split line, makes it impossible to peel it open!!!
