insurance. you do those speeds crash another statistic another camera another rise. i bought a car like that because i live in cumbria, need the power for the hills not to do 150mph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u need the car for hills why not go for a turbo diesel then something that has power and a bit better on fuel economy

Your on the wrong forum to post 'my scooby beat....', at it seems half the people on here don't seem to believe an Impreza could pull the skin off a rice pudding!!!

Still, speeding on a public road is very naughty , but hey most of us have done at some point.

(Don't make it a habit doing top speed runs, as there are lots of threads on here about engines going pop at that speed)

They are actually designed to do a maximum of 112mph (yours is an import).
I believe that over 120ish the air misses the scoop, therefore you get no air onto the intercooler, hence the bang!!!

 

so front mount the intercooler problem solved

 

The car wasnt 'designed for' a front mounted intercooler, and you were talking about what it was designed for.

In theory, but make sure you have 98RON petrol (+ booster if possible) and a good oil aswell.

 

The Impreza is a sprint car - not designed for sustained high speed racing of that type. You must of heard about problems with the TMIC over 110-120 mph? Also there is more to enjoying the car than simplying planting your right foot on a long straight road. I think many find ways to appreciate the capabilities of their car at more reasonable speeds on a different type of road.
