Just to let folk know that i had a little blat out at weekend and i have competed a 3rd of the route, i ended up in Hebden bridge which was a bit of a disaster as they have it all dug up and it is currently gridlocked so i need to work out some ice roads from there!!!!
I've not forgot!!!!
some really good and fast roads up to there though

Crickey chief, your putting far too much time into this route, it's going to be a monster by the sound of it, will we need to bring tents and sleeping bags?

No i dont want to make a f**k of it, gotta get it right.
a lot of these roads i have never ventured on, so i need to give them a personal roadstest before unleashing the Smacs onto then.
Unfortuately i was hoping to do more of route before the light faded and my buudy who came along in a Boxster decided a more sedate (i.e. like miss daisy) pace was the order of the day.
I am trying to keep away from villages and built up area's as much as possible.
I'll keep you all posted.

The run from Denshaw i am planning took me an hour at most, and that was to Hebden Bridge, it was just a bit of a disaster from there on (not what i expected TBH)
i'll definitely get it sorted.

I will try and make it but if I do it will only be to say hello to everyone, won;t be able to make the run out due to my brake fluid looking somewhat like dirty dish water at the moment, thanks to Chris at Prosport for pointing it out !!!!

Well after looking at the state of the Smacs diary it looks like this run could be around March time - so plenty of time to sort those brakes
having my new discs + pads fitted tommorrow so i need to take it easy for a bit.
Excellent news chief, but march and april are deffo out, we've far too much on those months.
Just put my name on the thread for the peak tour 2006, which is on the 30th april.
Check the diary page of our site, see when we're quiet on there, and make the proposal then.
You'll have email later this afternoon regarding a meeting next week as well.
see you saturday.

july, august, september, october and november are looking contenders at the moment.
I kid you not, and thats not including the next run to wales, the proper one this time with karting and staying over in a hotel
I feel it's important to spread what we're doing around, too much too early, and we'll have nothing to look forward to later in the year.
I presume you'll be stopping at the pub on your route to sample the food

Next year maybe too soon based on how much I have already spent on Optimax this year!
Feb has so far been Stock-Derby run, Brands TD, Wales Run and I still have Bedford to look forward to. Ouch!

I do not use it to commute, if that is what you are asking, as I work from home.
But we only have one car as a family so shopping trips, kids taxi service and general travelling duties is all done in the scoob.

Put together another part of the route on Sunday, myself and Paul (Gillp95) went for a run and hit the road between Hebden Bridge and Keighly - which is absolutely superb i have to say - its almost done.
Just need to find a damn pub in Saddleworth or Yorkshire that does good pub grub and has a large car park

Chief,
if you need any help on the saddleworth moor/hebden bridge bit then let me know I have an encyclopedic (even if I cant spell it) knowledge of that area. I'm from round there and my parents still like in Denshaw and ive spent many hours tear arsing round the single track moor roads.

Chief I know its going to be a while before there is space in the hectic SMACS calender to schedule this run-out, but it might be an idea to set a date so that other things dont keep getting organised in the calender in its place. The route sounds great and I for one dont want to miss out!!
Does anyone remember the run we did after the Marple Hall School doughnut session over to Rowarth?
Sheet ice down to the Little Mill Inne, classic SMACS run out at an average speed of about 10mph
I've still got the film somewhere of our doughnuts

Well that goes without saying, as they don't want to have to get out of the car incase they loose the half eaten doughnut they were chomping through, plus some of them are that fat they just wedge themselves in behind the wheel for the shift !!!
