Question

Can't give him a definate order as the weather depends which set I go on - Wet = P Zeros with 5mm, Dry = RE010's with 2/3mm on. I don't think the RE010's would be much good afterwards, but won't know until the end of the day. Need to get 200mls back to Leeds!

Any informed opinion(or not as the case may be) would be appreciated on tyrewear??

I've given Mark from TN an order for 4 Toyo's earlier this week but as Dave said, he will be making a decision tomorrow.

If the pumps are not available on site you can get SUL from a Total garage about 6 miles away at Wrotham. The local BP station about 1 mile away didn't previously sell SUL albeit it was being refurbished last time I drove past and might do so now.

As far as I was aware until today they were going to attend. The Track Support Unit is intended to attend all SIDC track days, not just dependant on tyre orders. That was the agreement I made with TN. It obviously helps if they sell some tyres too though, and they get grerat support from club members in general. I will have a word in their shell like.

Just to add to the woes - there will NOT be an open pitlane on Monday....

Cars will be grouped, 30 minute sessions (but it's an open pitlane for that group within the half hour)

Start Rant

Having only done Croft before, which was an open pit lane - how do sessions work?? Does this mean I'll be clockwatching all day?? If I miss the start can I go out ??

Information pack sent suggested an open pit lane, which I believe is usual for the SIDC - why is Brands different??

I was under the impression Tyres Northampton were at all SIDC days - seems they don't like taking the rough with the smooth!!

Rant over

Ok peeps.
After discussions with both Brands and TN I can confirm the following....

The event will be run in an identical manner to last years event and Brands. There will be two 30min sessions per hour, one for novices, one for experienced. These sessions will both run in open pitlane format for the 30mins.
This decison has been forced upon us by Brands who don't allow open pitlane for whatever reason.
As Doc says, it actually worked really well last year.

Regarding the Track Support Unit, having spoken to Malcolm the reason they can't attend is because two of their fleet of five vans are currently off the road. They could have come along had the trip been worthwhile commercially, which isn't an issue at other events, but it would make more money doing it's usual job. They haven't received enough orders to warrant losing out on normal business. It's unfortunate for us, but we have to understand that their main business has to come first.

I look forward to seeing you all there, Let's hope the weather's like it was at Donno!

Stef.

Shame about TN - having to get a local company to swop my tyres around

No slicks for me on Monday - don't want to scare the game old biddy

Same situation as Cadwell then with TN. Info pack stated that they would be there only they weren't.

Sessions mmmmmmm. They may well have worked last year and they probably will this year but I really do think that issues like these should be finalised before anyone parts with any money.

Mo.
With all due respect it is never confirmed that events are run with an open pitlane before anyone books, it's just how we prefer to run our days.
I would like to think that peopletrust us enough to know that whatever the format of the day, it wil be great value for money.
There was a track day at Brands last week, just in the afternoon. The event was run in 20min sessions and cost £120, so you only got four sessions.
If you'd rather go to one of those events, feel free.

How effin annoying. If I could have got hold of new brake pads, I would have been there too. Ordered them week before last from Demon Tweeks on 2 day delivery. Guess when they turned up - lunch time today. Especially annoying as Brands is about 20 mins from where I live.
Hope you all had a great day anyway ( "Grumpy git mode off")

Hi All
I have posted some pictures of Brands on my web site http://www.uk300wrx.co.uk
I have also taken 5 rolls of 35mm Pictures which I will get developed onto disc. I am still waiting for the Donno ones back so I shall try another developer for these and hopefully get them back quicker than 2 weeks. Blo*dy TRUPRINT.

I hope the 2 guys who had accidents both Green Wagons are Ok and get it all sorted OK (Sorry don't know either of them).
I have no pictures and I hope no one posts them without the owners permission (Not in good taste), however that said I am sure no one would.

All the best
Pete

DocJock - for taking out Jason and myself . Jason still has the big grin on his face!

Kim and Dom, for allowing us to nick your lids, plus taking Jason out for some laps

Iain, Nigel, Puff, Ronnie, and the rest of the guys and gals for making it a great day.
