YES!! He paid for delivery - it's not his fault it is £20 and you are not prepared to cover it. Give him his £5 back and let him pick the bits up.

Oh, and when he does come to pick them up, duck in case he throws a punch in your direction, you little ****.

YOU accepted paypal - YOU accepted £5 for postage.
YOU are going back on your word.

YOU owe shooter4fun £5. Hope that makes it clear.
(I really should get off the fence)

Shooter has already got the bits from what i gather.

Steve, you owe the man £5 - it's not your money. just refund it and let that be the end of it.

This is getting silly.

Steve, take a step back, and look at it from the other side.

1) You made an offer, it was accepted, and paid for.

2) You made an error when you quoted, and charged him for shipping. Your fault, not his.

3) Whilst you offered a full refund, he offered to collect, and you agreed.

4) Paypal charges are down to you, they are not his responsibility.

Whether the guy needs the £5, or just wants it returned on principle, is really none of our concern. He's paid for something he didn't receive, and wants his money back.

I suspect most of us would want the same !!!

Mark.

If the other guy had posted first, you'd be branded a rip-off merchant.

Refund the £5 and be done with it..!

After all you got the £100 (accepting paypal) you asked for. The fact that you got less due to Paypal charge is irrelevent (sp?)..!

If, in the first place, he'd have offered you the £100 and said he'd collect would you have accepted or still expected P&P..?

the amount of times i,ve underestimated paypal fees, dosent bear thinking about, but thats the way it goes...

you cannot charge extra for paypal fees, unless you are a merchant.

if it costs more then thats tough.. (fact of life really)

if the guys arranging for his own pick up, then you need to refund the delivery,

if you wanted a set price for your bits, you should have done B/I/N or made your delivery enough to cover the costs...

two ways to look at it..

did you want to sell the bits??? if yes be happy with what you got, less the £5

you didnt want to sell the bits and there cluttering your shed.

Default both sides

The seller had to take trouble to package and take to post office, time and money spent there.

However deal done at 100 + 5 postage, I've never heard of going half wacks on postage, postage is postage! its the sale price is flexible.

Guys its Christmas agree to disagree and stick half of it in a charity box!

I'm sorry things went this far, but Stevebt has refunded me, in fact he sent me £6 to cover my paypal costs, which I thought was very nice of him.

I refunded him the extra £1 though as it was never my intention to make money from him.

At the end of the day everything is now right, and although Stevebt may feel bad (I'm sorry for that), I would still willingly buy from him again.

Have a great Christmas and a Happy New year to one and all.
