I am hoping that the reply won't be too long in coming so I can let you know thier thoughts and some finer detail. I.E Will there be Police scoobs availiable, how many instructors, activities planned, lunch arrangments, where any donations are to go etc.

Here's hoping it all comes together.

Hiya Dudes and laydees, Update time.

I recieved a call from The head of the Police driving division and he was VERY keen on the idea. The proposal has to go before a committee of some sort where they assess things like "Political correctness" and check to ensure that it won't backfire on them in the future or indeed if the event can be used against them.

The concern wasn't that club members could use it but due to potential media coverage, someone in say Lincoln could stir up anti-speeding issues and the blame would come back to Notts Constabulary. Get my drift?

Politics I know and us mere mortals will probably never understand it properly.

On the plus side though, this is all part of the arrangment admin so we have to endure it. It means that when the event is signed off, it'll be a doddle to implement

I'll keep ya all posted with info the moment I get to hear anything juicy

On a slightly different tack - might be worth contacting Men & Motors or such like as this would make an 'interesting' media event. I am sure plod could do with all the good publicity they could get with regards to motoring and road saftey (other than 'Saftey HA! Camera Vehicles')

After my P*ss poor showing of my driving skills in a piddly Go-Kart at the AGM (o/k it was wet, my first go and no brakes) excuses over I would love some training for me and Scoob.
Unlike the rest of you lot born holding a steering wheel I am a mere mortal and need some coaching!! a car doesn't make a driver So count me in.
