I'm sure we're all adults. Adult enough to wait for the console to be in stock, be cheaper, have decent games release for it and have all the initial bugs/problems ironed out.

Surely?

If you happened to genuinely end up with a spare for some reason and you let it run on ebay and it ticked its way up to £600 through people bidding then fine, well done. If you went round to all outlets trying to buy as many as you can so that you can sell them for as much as possible then I would have to say the word "Scum" comes to mind...Because, although you can claim it is fair supply-demand, its not really as there are a limited number of suppliers...who bought up all the xboxs causing the undersupply

I think you can safely say that apart from some pre-orders they were all bought by shop staff and their mates or they have got dodgy deals going on. You can't tell me someone actually walked into a store on Friday and left with 6-8 360's. (which is what an awful lot of ebay sellers seem to have acquired)

Agreed, whether they bought them as private customers or as shop staff...my point is the same

Apparently 75,000 units were shipped to the UK and actual sales were 70,000. What happened to the other 5000?

Its called greasing the wheels. Its like most companies give out freebies to customers/pr peeps etc. When the PS1 came out every single manager at Game got 1 free !

My brother just bought two from UK Euro Supplies who run an advert the other day in the Scottish Sun newspaper. The had access to 1000 units for pre-xmas delivery and were only charging the retail price (inc. delivery).

Someone paying twice the retail price needs their head examined IMO.

Not a newspaper in common circulation in Wiltshire, and doing a Google on UK Euro Supplies is not very rewarding. Are you keeping the contact details secret just to tease everyone

Sorry, been away. 0800 5871113 they were selling out rapidly the other day. Didn't think it was worth posting the number as I didn't think they'd be any left.

Yep, I restricted the buyers to people with 5+ feedback and also people who didn't have paypal could not bid to avoid time wasters. Got a good bidder with a solid rating who paid immediatly with no hassles. So good job all round

Of course they existed, they might not have been around for the original Playstation, but definitely the PS1.

Looks like the market has settled, Core systems are going for £245 now, Premium is more popular but some of those aren't meeting reserve.
