OK I reckon we should do the following
1) Bin the Karting for this meet
2) Go for the slot on the 21st
3) Collect Deposits at the meet on the 7th
4) Wait for Gridlock Mikey to decide on a suitable activity to take the place of the karting for this meet
I'd like to do something along the lines of the Gunthorpe meet xcept have longer behind the wheel in between pubs. Harj, you could meet us at a pub of your choice if you don't wanna show us ya car operating in "the real world"
Do the lunch thing, 'nuvver blast, end the route at another pub and the meet can filter out from there
Not the most awe inspiring day on paper, but niether was Gunthorpe
OK all those in favour say eiiiiye

Well poo to karting then....it's on me missus' birthday if we do the 21st
Where are we karting anyway? What is the spec of the karts? Just want to know as I am karting on 30/06/01 and wondered how it would compare. Trouser...give me the info!
Would still be up for the meet though on the 7th.

Whats that sound????? could it be Phil running over at great velocity to the staffs type area??
He doesn't come across as too desperate now does he? ....(only joking m8!!)
Hanslow, the cars are twin engine "Prokarts"... i'm not sure whats "pro" about them..... they always look battered when i've been there .... mind you, they're faster than Salsa King replying to a female posting!!!!! lol and thats all that matters
I reckon we should just wing it and see what happens... the best days out are always a little bit unplanned...(who shouted that i'm lazy??? )
I know that after the Dales run, Dad and Pete are popping up a few posts on SIDC and in the Next issue of true grip about the drives....
Sorry to sound like yer parents, but we have to be a little bit careful on "organised" drives, with regard to speed...... like Harj says, there's a time and a place and we don't want it to end in tears.
Mentioning no names, a couple of newish owners have said to me in confidence, that they felt a little worried about trying to keep up with some of the more experienced guys....
None of us have anything to prove, to either eachother, or any other inferior vehicle that we could easily overtake, so c'mon.... lets crooooooze
(wow.... pretty old giffer stance from a 27 year old ...... i'm just off to the legion for a pint! )
Cheers

Agree with Trouser somewhat on the speed issue, better safe that photographed getting a speeding ticket
What would be good, would be to find a long tunnel (or high sided valley road type thing) and to cruise through and listen to all the back boxes burbling away
Well I think it would anyway.....
Now, are there any long tunnels around the midlands area??

That would mean going to Brum (or North Wales - again! ) me thinks. I can't think of anything long enough in Notts unless you cruise around the city .
On the subject of speed, the best bet is to find some roads where you can have fun without going 'too' fast and maybe have a blast along some safer straight bits (at all times paying attention to the prevailing road conditions, Officer)

I agree on the speed issue. We had a top drive up to Oulton park for the SIDC track day, around 10 scoobs in convoy at 65mph other than the odd blast which we all have from time to time.
Remember the Porche club incident a few years back? Should hate to have SIDC/scoobynet in the headlines because of a major accident.
The main reason though is you all know I've now got a V6 Mondeo and I can't keep up. LOL

hmmmmmmmm don't think Michelle would suit me, Jeanette better watch out! lol
Logiclee
the drive back from Oulton was good though, AudioDave's car is limited u kno to 112mph, took him 10mins to catch back up with us!
why don't we just go to the go-kartin about 5pm so we can get an evening drive there. or do they shut at 5pm?
Mikey is now the Nottm official regional organizer! PeteC knows about this and Stef too
Graham will now be able to consentrate on TrueGrip and TSL and not have to worry about us lot once a month. lol
we will all give mikey our surport won't we?

Dudes, I just posted on the Mitsibishi EVO bbs, Inviting them along to our meet. Hijacked three threads and started one ov me own. Had 12 E-Mails from the EVO boyz already!
Route details will be posted by the way on Monday (Generic that is) with Specific details availiable by E-mail and on the day obviously
As a side note, and not wishing to drag this thread off line again, but have you all seen the pictures of Salsa King Phil to be found in the Nottm area SWF wanted thread.
HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!
I've posted the pictures on the EVO's site just so that the lancer chaps can see what we all look like LOL (Only kidding Phil )
I'll also do a "body" count sometime today so that everyone can see at a glance, who is coming. I might even post a list of shame People and thier reasons for none attendance, what duya reckon?
With regards to the karting, i agree with Trouser and Phil, let's play it by ear on this meet, see who's around still at 17:00hrs, phone the place, see if there are any slots and if so, get our asses up there.
The August meet we will have a definate slot early afternoon so that the people who have to travel for miles can still enjoy the event and still get home before midnite
Anyways, spread da word, Meet, Drive, Eat, EVO's and kartin' I got a good feelin' about dis one

Mellow's coming down and bringing his Northern charm to woo all the laydees out of their nests, treat him nicely and he may just throw you a crumb or two
He'll be staying the nite and may need accomodation.
Karting, clubbing, driving, drinking and wooing is 2nd nature to this man beast
Roll out the red carpet
