By the way, I'm not poo-pooing the 360, I haven't got one so can't comment

Still trying to decide if I'd use it much if I bought one. Don't do much gaming these days as I seem to have just grown out of it

I personally feel that it has been rushed out for xmas, but all first revisions have faults that normally get rectified second time around. Depends if you want to enjoy it now or are prepared to wait and hope they tweak a few things for the better (and not worse!). Same goes for first revisions of cars.....

Ah well that's fair enough then, if ppl dont RTFM they only have themselves to blame. I can just see now, Dads reading through 2 manuals on xmas day before letting the kids loose on it for 8 hours Still its not an ideal design and no, I don't know what would be better, apart from raising it off the floor. But I shouldn't have to think about it either

Hanslow,
I thought that prior to getting the 360...... but since having it I have bashed it non stop. I too thought I had outgrown the scene, but this has revitalised the "kid" in me. I love it!!!

Regards,
Shaun.

Slimline PS2 will overheat if you put them on a thick carpet. As with any cutting edge piece of technology, it *will* get hot... keep it on a table.

(I'm someone with a desk fan blowing into the side of his PC, due to overheating problems in there!)

Yeh right thick carpet as in shagpile it probably would

If your pc is overheating that badly then you haven't setup the hardware up properly imo.

Slimline ps2 will overheat on thin carpet as well (as I found out from experience).
