You would certainly have to count me IN, IN, IN if this were to be organised.

Just seen a few motorbikes hurtling round the Isle of Man on the box which got me thinking too.........

No prob, I'll just buy a 'proper' car, set off at the scheduled time and date, and still get there before the tractors (you started it! )

Put some new front boots on it and all of the wheelspin has been sorted - they were pretty shot

I'm now taking it easy with the weather/damp roads and have still not booted it in first or second gear.

It's exactly what I asked for. I can drive it like a normal Scoob and it's very well behaved. Start stomping on the gas and it's awesome. The build is bullet proof so far (touch wood!).

Really can't say enough about the attention to detail that's gone into it...

Is anyone actually pleased for Ian or just hoping it will all go wrong for him? No offence meant to anyone here guys but.....

He hasn't had the car built so it will blow up at the drop of a hat or to beat anyone at quarter mile times (although it will annhililate cobbled together home made specials and pro builds alike).

He had it built because he loves cars, driving and the sheer thrills associated with the two things.

I am very pleased for you Ian, your car is a credit to Scoobymania, and to you for specifying exactly what you wanted and sticking to your guns.

It has 500bhp, the same torque,it's easy to drive and doesn't break down or last 30 seconds at full bore before the next 2 week rebuild. It has been built with care and attention and quality parts and he has been without transport for 6 months waiting for it to be ready.
Good on you mate.

I for one can't wait to see what's been done All the other 500bhp machines I've seen have been pretty much useless at anything but 1/4 mile, which TBH is very dull indeed. A driveable, reliable car of such power is an achievment. Well Done.

Paul. I don't think anyone here is wanting this project to fail.

Far from it. We all know Ian well enough to know that this will be a special car and every club member will be proud to have such a car 'on our books'.

There'll be no let up in our support either.. It may not have the exotica of the Thrapper, but we all understand the sheer ability of a propely built car like this and we'll still be there, rain or shine, supporting him and blagging a go every now and again..

In fact I'd go as far as to say that there's not many here who, after overcoming the beauty of the 360, would not ultimately prefer a four door, everyday driveable, take Helen shopping, low key missile that would most probably eat the thrapper on anything but a silverstone smooth circuit driven at 10/10ths...

Ian's always been generous with his time and shared his love and joy of driving.. My lad for one will not forget the several laps of a wet Elvington track in the CS..

All we need to know is.. when do we get to see the bloody thing????????

I think everyone who posted on here, is nothing less than impressed with Ian's car.

I for one am!! knowing a few tuners, to break 500bhp and keep some type of reliability is not an easy task, most gearboxes detach themselves from the car and blow a gear just at the sight of that dyno

have read this thread 5 times now Paul have you being eating raw meat

Steve(P20SPD) and David W may of made some reliability comments but hey there just jealous

Hi Guys,

Just caught up with this.

As in all these things, most people have wished me well and been very supportive (especially WYIOC!).

Paul is simply commenting on the occasional "snipey comment", which I do find quick shocking but given the negative aspect to owning the Thrapper, maybe I should'nt. This certainly does not include you Steve - I'm surprised you thought it did..?

To say I'm glad to get my Scoob back is an understatement. Like you all, I just love getting behind the wheel. I'm taking it easy now over winter but will be "thrashing" the pants off it in this coming year

All good friends and people who been supportive during the project will be sharing in the enjoyment.

I'm very annoyed to have been missing the meets but it has been a case of "one thing or another" for the last few months. I'm still an acive WYIOC supporter!

I've just re-read all of this thread on the strength of this one line, and cannot see any post which may have prompted it, with the possible exception of one by P20SPD which was simply a statement of fact.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see pages and pages of threads 'hoping it's all gonna go wrong' at all, just a bunch of enthusiasts wanting more details, and trying to blag a ride (please )

I would therefore say that the concensus of opinion is that YES, we are actually pleased for Ian.
