I have. I'll get them up shortly. Money from the P1 site can get us discounts from GGR and RCM kits.

Default APS Induction Kits

Hiya
In response to the Group Buy WRC Tech are prepared to support Scoobynet members/posters as follows:

APSWRX/HFA99 suits my 99 & 00
or
APSWRX/HFA01 suits my 01 onwards

Normal retail is £158 + vat. Group buy price at £142.50 each + vat + carraige.

Need 10 to make this possible.

As has been mentioned a remap is highly advisable. If you install any part to the induction that does not require a remap, you could assume it to be no better than the part you replaced !

We will gladly offer a package price for Induction+Fitting+Remap to those that want it @ £695 + vat

Regards

Allan

I would assume that in the not to distant future the HFA99 will drop away as the US drives demand for APS product and classic shape Subaru's are now getting a little old for them. Like any manufaturer APS are driven by volume.

Cheers

I spoke to the chap from wrc today and he is very interested in a group buy, he cannot guarantee that he will recieve the order before christmas, but if you put in an order he will try. and at the very least you will actually get 1 before they are discontinued, and for a good price too.so if anyone is still interested aswell, put you name down.

I know you are getting a remap soon, It might be worth while getting your remap done on the panel filter and later adding the aps filter and have the map altered to suit which isnt too expensive it is the initial map that is the expensive one. The only chance to get one for next week would be to go through the dealer list in Australia, pay them with plastic, and have it flown over DHL, worth a try i suppose?

But another re-map a week later will cost me another £150! F*ck that!

Im getting a GGR kit with a heat shield & cold air feeder, so that way I get all the benefits of the APS kit and the bigger cone of the GGR!

If tou are putting in a heat shield/box it will do exactly the same job as the aps Its just a lot more hassle. and I wasnt sugesting that you get a remap next week, but maybe in the future when you add some more upgrades.

Im not doing any more upgrades on my car, and there is no way Im putting on a new induction kit without a re-map! Its too risky! Esp. with the APS kit! It kills MAFS I've been told without a re-map!

I didnt sugest fitting the aps without a remap (thats a sure way to pop your engine) but rather get your map adjusted a few weeks/ months down the line WHEN! you fit the aps kit.Its not expensive on the pfc, And i have said on many occasions that i am not doing anymore upgrades, but once you are bitten by the power bug it is very hard to stop as many, many people on scoobynet will stand testement. PS all Induction kits kill mafs, they are not designed to deal with the masses of turbulent air, If you read in the nosaic forum in the states you will see that companies such as perrin are producing a large diameter pipe which surrounds the maf, which allows lots of air to pass the maf without it being toasted.

Can't you ditch the MAF with the Apexi Power FC?

I have fitted a quickshift racing steel mesh filter on the end of MY APS Kit. It flows much more air than the K&N filter and no problem with the MAF either. Had to buy an adapter and a bit of silicon hose to join the two together. Its fatter and Longer too. Overall very pleased with it

I dont know if you can ditch the maf completely? Andy F will know ,but i think that you can select between different air filter types, However you can keep an eye on your maf with the pfc in the diagnostic section on the commander, so if you are worried that its toast, its easy enough to find out.

What pore size has the steel filter ... can it keep out fine dust, as that is also a MAF killer!
Vibration of the cone filter instead of the OEM rigid air box doesn't help MAF life either.

Hi Neil,

The mesh filter is exactly the same as the Blitz SUS filters They are made in the same factory apparantly. The Filter isnt on the maf housing its on the end of my APS cold air kit. The APS pipe is substanstially bolted to the inner wing. I have been using this for approx. 14000 miles on a 350bhp +engine.
Had no Maf issues whatsoever
