Very sad. I knew about this a few weeks back from someone close to him that he had terminally relapsed but chose to respect his and his familys privacy after the responses on here last time I posted news of his condition.
Reminder if ever it is needed (particularly for those that have never been struck with tragedy) that none of us are immune, and your life can change in a second. Certainly Richard lived life to the fullest.

Great guy, he will be sorely misssed. Always had time for his fans especially at Rally GB where I met him.
As many of said probably one of the reasons I got into subarus was because of him.
A very sad loss indeed for the rallying world and all his friends and family.
