What time will you be around Derby / Matlock area. I'm 75% sure I could make the meet. I live nearby so I could meet you all around here (Derby / Belper / Matlock area) somewhere?

Cool

Dave, if you could do me a favour...
can you tell us if there is a motorway service somewhere close to Junction 26 of the M1? I figure we can probably regroup there midday if it exists
Then we can head off the motorway towards Matlock B and beyond

Going to roll up the M1 as then we can get the boring motorway bit outta the way quickly. Haven't seen Michelles route, but J26 M1 to Matlock Bath is dead easy. After that it gets more fun
Cheers

Chuck,

There's a services on J28 of the M1 (Swallow IIRC). Can't remember if there is a petrol station or just a hotel.

Also a Granada on J23A (Donnington Park / East Mids Airport). Not sure if there any further up on the M1 between J23A and J28.

There are services between Jct 25 and Jct 26 (about half way between the two. Alternatively there are services on the A50 (M1 Jct 24) about a mile from the M1 and also services at Alfreton at the junction of the A38 and A61. Nice pub off of A615 near Oakerthorpe / Alfreton. Big car park as well. The name escapes me for now. If your interested mail me off list and I'll give more details.

Make a change to see some Scooby's in Matlock Bath rather than motorbikes!

Right folks.

I have booked a table for a load of drunk Southerners and a few almost sober Northerners for for 10pm.

No jibbing please - I don't want to look like a complete **** when 5 of us turn for the balti when I said 20 to 25.

Oh, the Nan Breads are HUGE!!! I don't bother with rice usually.

See you Saturday.

Right....
I'm going to suggest we meet up/regroup at the Trowell services (Northbound Neil!) just before J26 at 12 to 12.30 Saturday.
After that? I'm going to be leading the 'Driving Miss Daisey' possee up past Matlock Bath, Chatsworth, thru Snake Pass towards Glossop and then back down through to Stoke. Pace = not incredibly mental.
If you want to 'press on' more than me(*ahem* - my wife that is ) thats where the Midlands routemeister comes in....
Whadda ya reckon?
To be frank I need to do *alot* of miles as recently had mucho work done to the car and some bits need to be run in again
I've got a week to do 1,000 miles so I can get an oil change before epic Scotland trip
