Default Snow and insurance

Morning all,

In 4 years of racing bikes, I had only two delayed starts due to weather - waiting for fog to clear at Cadwell, and de-icing at Oulton - just an hour or two in each case. However - question for Phil - do Motorsport Vision have a specific policy if they have to cancel due to snow?

On insurance - again, question for Phil - is this mandatory? For bike trackdaying the situation is pretty much 'at your own risk', with most ride without insurance. Also, the vast majority of accidents are unforced, it has to be said. Bikes and cars are a little different though - if a car spins it's likely to present a hazard to other track-users, whereas a bike usually slides out of harms way.

Final question - will slick tyres be allowed? Am considering them for my trackday wheels simply because my T1S's were seriously ragged up on my last trackday (although that was Bruntingthorpe which is more abrasive than Brands).

cheers
Andy

If its cancelled the day will be rescheduled and those that can't make the new date will be refunded

Whilst Insurance is not mandatory its HIGHLY RECOMMENDED You will of course be required to sign the usual disclaimers

As for slicks I will check but I don't believe that will be a problem

Ok

Couple of answers to Questions

Brands for a Novice, After the briefing a number of track sighting laps may be an option. Sighting laps are there not just for novices but also those who have never driven Brands.

Days format will be governed by the conditions and input from the Track officials and instructors.

Instructors are available and come highly recommended both know the circuit very well and are very used to Scoobies as they also support other southern scooby track events at Castle Combe, Goodwood and also SIDC driver training
at Bruntingthorpe. Infact only last week Mike was driving a WRC Focus and a Group N Scooby.

If you want an instructor my advice is to book one sooner rather than later as i expect everyone will want a slot first thing.

In parallel depending on the number of newbies may request that "hands" go out as passenger to help bed the day in.

Intent is that all attendees will be sent notes for the event prior to the day.
