My Talbot Sunbeam Lotus

It's trade name is Polyplex. Sheet of Plastic to the layman. Easy to cut into any shape. Rivetted on, and it makes it all look very tidy indeed.
Of course, the radio cover and cut-out switch backing plate is genuine carbon fibre. Helps when the guy building the car for you is a Mechanical & Composite Design Engineer whose clients include McLaren and Lola (not Lola Ferrari, I'm referring to the racing car manufacturer).
Cheers,
f

Wonderful car, a M8 has had 2 of these over the years, there still one of my all time favs.
Fantstic sounds with carbs and twin cam engine, handling was always interesting, especially in the wet (his were std road cars). I found the offset 1st quite odd when I drove them, but I guess you get used to it after a while
Good luck, hope you don't have to sell

Lovely motor, years back a mate had a white and green Skip Brown prepared one, really shifted, remember him racing an RS500 Cossie by us and going through an island at 70ish sideways- sounded like a friggin tugboat too

Reason the car is red is because it's been re-shelled. Original shell was well past it's usefulness (i.e dissolved), so a previous owner swapped it for a low-mileage 1.3 Automatic shell (hence having a large enough transmission tunnel to accommodate the ZF gearbox).
The replacement shell was Talbot Cherry Red, but by the time I got the car it had faded to pink in a lot of places. A couple of front wings and a respray in Porsche Guards red (more fade-resistant) with silver stripes and it's all good.
Cheers,
f
