he does describe it as a very good car etc, if i win i will go to see it and if its not what it was described as(a good car) i will walk away and complain to ebay.

ps: its a good 4hrs away from me acording to route planner so i will go with his word and like i said if its not what its supposed to be then i walk.

thankyou

MY97 has exterior facelift.
I have a catalunya and they are nice, but I would say than. If you are on a limited budget, however, I would say a MY97 UK standard turbo. The special editions cost more and unless they have PPP don't offer anything more in terms of performance.
I would strongly recommend an inspection.

AFAIK the dashes are similar, but somebody should be able to confirm this.
I don't think the MY98 dash is from another car? BTW the steering wheel is much nicer in MY98 too and centre consol is different, also get cup holders.

thanks colin, yeah theres a big difference....from what nick is saying then....there must be 3 dashes in total in the classic range????? im pretty sure they took the forrester dash and put it in the impreza. but whats this 3rd change, just the console with cup holders lol. or just little tweaks to the 2nd edition. Only 2 dashes as far as im aware, one running from 93-97 & then 2nd one from 98 - 01.

There was a change between 95 - 97 on the old type dash where they put a different bit in where the hand brake is - older cars have a usless coin tray I think its for...newer ones get a flip up hide away storage holder.

My car is a MY97, but is an early 98 registered car and has the later dash, console and Momo steering wheel - I think all the later MY97 ( from late 1997 onwards ) got the nicer dash with the white dials etc... so possible some R reg ones will and some wont.

With the car on Ebay, try putting a message on http://forum.scoobywales.co.uk/ and see if it belongs to anyone on there.

I dont think I could bring myself to buy a car from ebay.....would feel weird

Nice car at a nice price, I wouldn't worry about the re-built gearbox, with an up-rated clutch & fly it will be an improvement!! Just make sure he has the receipts to prove whats been done!!

Is he far from you???

VCAR = Vehicle Condition Alert Register - means it has been recorded as a write off - for the price I wouldnt bother as its not that cheap, and you'll always have problems selling it at a decent price in the future.

i was wondering with all these higher octane fuels avalible can you stick any fuel in these engines??? lets say i fill up with optimax one week then this tesco 99 fuel the next....can this cause engine damage or do you have set the engine up to a particular fuel???????

when i had my rs turbo i put normal fuel it one week and if i was happy i would put optimax, sul in the next, dont think there was any difference in power to be honnest.
