Thanks for the support guys.... VERY Much appreciated....
As Tiny has already said, we retired on the second to last stage with coolant issues....we were absolutely gutted. We had climbed up the leader board to 22nd position and with only a handful of seconds between us and 17th place , we were going for a great result. But it wasnt to be and the engine spat out its coolant on the first lap of SS9..
I think we were also running about 9th in class, which considering the WRC machinery that was there, was also a cracking result...
Oh Well maybe our luck will change for next time. Im glad you all had a good day and once again thanks for your support...it was a 100% better than what we got from our own side of the water...lol

I would have been there, along with the flag, if not for the fact that I couldn't even take my son to school, or get him dressed, let alone dress myself & drive! I've even had to get help today because I still can't move properly!!
So once again SORRY I couldn't make it!!

First opportunity to get on here since Saturday, but just to echo what the other guys have already said......What a great day!!!
Thanks to Budgie for getting us out of the jam after an accident closed the A14....another good advert for SatNAV!
Really was a good day out. Its the first time I have really seen rally cars giving it large in person and the noises and sights were awesome! The night stages were excellent, with a certain chicane right in front of the grandstand giving most of the field a bit of a problem after dark! The cars certainly weren't hanging around even though it looked pretty slippery out there and not to mention pitch black
Look forward to some more events and maybe even a jaunt over to see a proper WRC event next year!

Phil, would love to see you attend an event, but the charity stuff is FAR more important...so maybe sometime next year you will be able to pay us a visit??
Sirfozzalot...Glad you enjoyed your day. That chicane comes up sooooo quickly and it wasnt very well marked. We only get a drawing with the stage route so decisions have to be made when you can see what you are up against. It was VERY slippery as well.
We were doing over 100mph in places, so the big boys were even quicker.
Sunday's stages were also very slippery, with the course opening car crashing out and ripping of a front wheel. That meant another delay and a Caution being added to the notes at that point, but still 3 more cars crashed out at the same point..
hope too see you all again at the next one...your support IS appreciated
thanks

A big thanks to all the ESC that came out in the cold to support Jon and I at Rockingham, we do appreciate it.
We were in 22nd position overall out of 102 starters going into the 9th stage and then had a coolant problem so Jon and I decided to take a stage maximum and retire from the event.
If we had not have had the coolant issue and all went well we could have finished in about 17th or so overall, and maybe 6th in class.
If you consider that all the cars in our class were ALL WRC cars or 6R4 METRO's then we would have been ?????????? the best of the rest, and the highest placed scoob!!!!!!!!!!
Jon was gr8 even if he was belching burger breath through the intercom.
Again a big thanks to all that helped and hopefully next time we will have some Kent Scoobies members as well.
Also a MASSIVE thanks to Beverley and the guys at LEDA SUSPENSION, a truely FANTASTIC bit of kit.

Sorry you had to pull out, but it's always best to be safe - and glad you both got back in one piece and the car still has it's headlights ....

It was a pretty good day, way too cold though!. Amazing me and Craig made it after being stuck on the m11 j7 roundabout for an hour and 10 mins!. Just happened to come across Fozz, Alex and the Budgies in traffic on the A14, and followed them in. I`m only used to watching the full WRC, and didn`t realise they rallied such diverse cars!. A Micra, old and new, hondas, novas and the best thing an old 80s Volvo. Watching that thing go round corners was like trying to turn the QE2!!. The most extreme was the E46 M3, you have too much money if you rally one of them!.

Hi guys
met arron and j-k at the rally, really friendly genuine lads.Itoo was competing in car 38,the orange scoob, basically group n+ a front mount.my first time at rockingham,a new navigator(nick bought the ride at a charity aution),never rallied before.as j-k said very slippy on saturday, improved on sunday.course car incidend caused by an escort cossy dumping gearbox oil on to an already slipery surface.we finished 27o/a 3rd in class.would have been 13o/a 2nd in class had the left rear driveshaft not exploded on the start line of the last stage!bumer.glad to talk to some scooby fans at the weekend.possibly doing the oakington event on feb 5th.

Was good to meet you also . It was a cracking weekend all round. We are hoping to do Oakington on the 5th also, but it does depend on what is wrong with the car at the moment and obviously how much its gonna cost!!
We were gutted when the temp guage went off the scale and we had to coast round...and then we moved over to let you pass(thanks for the wave by the way), but thats motorsport i suppose.
