I still think the price is enough to make people make that little sucking noise through their mouth, followed by hmmmm.
It looks fairly clean and was obviously a mint car once. I know of a Renault 5 in original pearl with FRSH and 43000 on the clock. Standard except exhaust. I've talked the bloke down to 2700, but want him to come down to 2400. It is an E reg though. I don't know why he hasn't put it on RTOC because he'd sell a 5 with 43k on there. Makes me think it's a bit fishy.
Anyway i suppose year of reg is irrelevent on the 5's now. They're either in collectable condition or they're not.
Good luck all the same. Is yours on RTOC 'imp?

Nice...I actually had two of these (one red and one pearlescent) .... got the second one after missing the first one so much..its a pukka little car!!
I eventually sold the second one since i was looking for something with a stronger engine as unfortunatelly these engines are a bit delicate and I dare say that once you open that bonnet you are in trouble...when it comes to headgasket failures or internals you also do need someone that is a true specialist on this particular model (as I found with my first one)
And here we are again!!... another sales thread that some individuals decided to trash due to their personal agendas on prices
Due to the fact that these were sold very cheap some years back, the chav brigade has managed to have a good feast and destroy most but with this I dont believe its all bad news as its actually helped those that have kept the good examples both in value and they also now have something that trully stands out when out and about.
I cant actually remember the last time i saw one of these prowling the streets hence I always give it a good stare when I see one... What an icon!
If one is hard up for the money then let it go on the "cheap" but otherwise just hold out as this is one one those that will only be sold to a certain individual that will only use it for dry weather....In my view this is a collectors piece now and not just another daily runner.
Good luck with the sale!

Yep thats defo from wolverhampton, did you buy it from a guy in heath town called Carl?
ive had 5 of these little beauties ( 3 tungsten, one black and a raider ahhhh happy days) in between rs turbo, celica gt4, 205gti and now my scooby. I used to take my 5's to him as he knows sh*t loads about them and always helped me out.
great cars though!

I sill own a mint 1986 white 5 turbo with no plans to sell. She comes out to play in the summer months and still going strong.
Scoobyimp if you can afford to keep it a bit longer then i would if not try RTOC as there is always someone on there after a mint 5 turbo
Don't worry about the price just be ready to haggle when someone comes to look. good luck with the sale.
just out of interest how many scooby drivers have had gt turbos before turning to scoobies???
