you can watch DVD quality movies

Erm no you cant!!!!

DVD,s come with 5.1 surround, yours only come with basic stereo mixes..

so its not dvd quality!

Been shooting and drumming since I was 12 so I can't hear very well at the best of times

Will go shopping tomorrow to get some decent headphones. Will I need a headphone amp aswell or will a decent set of headphones do? Is maplin the best place to start looking?

At the moment I can barely hear Sin City UMD Video in my lounge let alone sitting in a plane!

Other than that I'm very impressed!

And here me posting from my PC with photos of my post -

And then heres one of me watching Gary from northloop.co.uk at the ring -

and heres one of a NISMO video ( I know, its not a skyline in the shot...)

Overall I'm loving my PSP, Wipeout Pure is great, the whole device works brilliantly, sound could do with being louder (going to get some new headphoes) and load times are a little slow, although only the same as a PS2 in my opinion.

I've got one dead pixel that bugs me, but I belive Sony or doing RMA's and exchanging devices on dead pixels...

Yes a bit slow and dated to input text youd think it would be predictive like mobile sms.

yep, really does make the most of its capabilities.

hopefully future firmware updates will add predicitive texting to the input, as its virtually sms style system now anyway, that'll making surfing that much better. Going to have to create a PSP friendly version of scoobyphotos.com at some point....

Yes, I'm going for a look at some on Wednesday, although I prefer the full over-head rather than neck band version, which are slightly more but from what people (and what hi-fi says) they are the business.

had a play with my mates psp last night to see what all the fuss was about

quite impressed with GTA, did not like the anologue stick, and the shoulder buttons, but the screen looked impressive.
he put a film disc in (bad boys) picture quality was impressive, as above, the sound was ****e.

impressive machine IMO, but i would not pay for one.

Got these Sennheiser headphones yesterday, and what a transformation. Absolutely brilliant. Plugged direct to the PSP without the Sony volume controller and the sound quality is great, volume is higher, and you actually feel some bass through them. Best of all, they fold into a sunglasses style case, so they can slip into your pocket when not in use.

Got mine from John Lewis yesterday, £30, money well spent imho.

Sony reckon around 3 to 5 hours (!) for gameplay, I've had about 6 out of mine and no sign of it giving up yet. Larger capacity battery out next year, although at the moment, I'd never be that long away from a power source to be too worried about it.

Had my psp for about a month now and think its a great piece of kit. Got need for speed most wanted and GTA liberty city stories which I both highly recommend. The only down points are that mine only came with a 32mb memory card (need to upgrade to at least a 1gb for movies etc) and that the black plastic front shows up finger prints and needs cleaning all the time.

got 5 out of 5 in the what hi-fi review, although they say the price is £15, not £25.

They reckon they're a good upgrade to standard headphones, so if you are after a set of in-ear phones, they're probably worth a go.

I downgraded the firmware on mine to 1.50 and can play all my games straight from the memory stick. I also installed a homebrew emulator and have loaded all my favourite snes games on to it, it emulates the snes near perfect. Excellent piece of kit imho.
